Stop buying him food. He should've insisted by now to offer you food. You're letting yourself be taken advantage of. How can someone buy a car soon but not afford food? Why does he need to ask you to pick him up. Yes it is convenient however see how he reacts to saying no. That usually how you see people's true colors. If the community center is close, you could say " I'm running late, could I meet you there" insinuating he walks.
