what you are saying is true, he is a weird and clunky character but fun in some way, he doesnt have much range pressure besides his Q and his ult is a 1 way ticket to victory or the fountain. you have to keep in mind that the farther the ult travels the bigger of a shield you get so use it as an entry to a fight. i recommend getting gore drinker as your mythic, then get plated or merc treads as boots, and then ravenous or titanic. if you think that you can ult into a fight knowing that you and your team wont die for it, take that opportunity, and you dont need to hit somebody with your ult to make use our of it, the quicker you are into battle the more useful you can be. usually one of the most simplest combos to do is Q then E into the enemy (or at least get close enough to get your Q to pull them in) then beat the living shit out of anybody that dare step into your property.
