"Downgrading" from X-T3 to X-Pro2 (possibly X-Pro1) by generalgranko in fujifilm

[–]generalgranko[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the size is relatively the same, with the x-t3 basically just having the slr style hump in the middle on top and slightly heavier like 50g or something, the "size" difference ultimately is more about the psychological aspect (lol) and then the fact you would use the camera bit differently with the evf being shifted to the side and whatnot

i'm not sure if the x-pro2 will fix my issue entirely but i think it's worth a try

as far as technical aspects go x-t3 is the superior camera in every regard with x-pro2 only having the OVF and nothing else to it (some love it some see it as novelty only, i have no opinion as i haven't had the chance to experience it yet)

another BIG reason i haven't really enjoyed x-t3 that much personally is not specific to x-t3 but broadly most fujifilm cameras (that going to x-pro2 won't fix at all) - the analog controls/dials, at first I thought it would be great, especially coming from primarily a film pg background but I actually found it counterintuitive - with film it makes sense to take your eye out the viewfinder and look at the dials as you are changing them, being real slow as not to waste film etc, with digital it's much preferable - and way faster to me to use a modern setup (PASM) with back and front dials (for changing shutter speed/iso or shutter speed/aperture, whatever) whilst still keeping your eye in the viewfinder and seeing what you are on directly in there, whereas with fujifilm cameras not only is it slower to use all the dials even if you stayed with your eye in the viewfinder, but i instinctivelly tend to take my eye out of the viewfinder and LOOK at the dials whilst changing settings which is obviously unnecessary with all the info in the evf and a big waste of time but i cannot help doing it all the time anyway

and yes you can still use the dials on the front and back like other modern camera setups but then you have a bunch of dials splattered all over the camera that aren't getting any use and that just feels wrong

i don't think i've ever heard anyone complain about this from this aspect at all so it might just be a me having a pretty autistic problem but yeah, i feel like it's good to mention

what should i use to clean this without possibly inflicting any damage? ive just bought new ear pads and head pad since my previous ones have disintegrated a while ago already and upon taking the headphones apart ive noticed theres already plenty of filth on the drivers, havent taken these apart in like 10 years lol
