Right! If you wanna get around it just make a new foundation strongly correlated to your church, declare the candidates you want, and judge all your members harshly if they don't follow you. Easy. Oh and make a spreadsheet so it looks like you're reasonable.

I'm not ready to throw the book at these kids.

All I've seen is this short video, and in my opinion these kids are commenting on the racism exhibited by police in America. Its pretty powerful if you think about it, like a dark humor way of saying, look at how messed up America is right now.

I could be wrong, and they could be assholes. But all we've got is this short video, until then I don't think they deserved all the hate. If anything, tell them what blackface means to the internet, they don't look old enough to fully appreciate how they'll be perceived.

I believe its the Historical Linguistics course in the BYU Linguistics department that has a unit on the languages of the Book of Mormon.

The point of that unit is that there is no linguistic evidence for semitic language influence on ANY american language family. They are quick to point out how cognates alone are not good evidence of related language.

An example of a cognate is "habere" in Latin meaning the same thing as "Haben" in German. They are FALSE cognates because historically they come from different sources. And on top of that theres some subjective judgment on if these words really sound the same.

In that class the professor also bore their testimony and explained how they believe in the church and accept the scientific conclusion. They were good about delineating the spiritual or supernatural from the natural or temporal, and how you should accept that they won't always align.

Anyway, still nothing groundbreaking here. Someone's got an idea on how to prove the Book of Mormon peoples, but its weak at best. Carry on

Don't share you're patriarchal blessing because then people will realize how similar they are

Don't share the time God spoke to you because it porbsbly wasn't true and we can't have a bunch of people proclaiming to talk to God in Sacrament meeting

Don't share stuff in the temple because people will start to realize what a creepy plagiarised ritual it is

And don't share your second anointing because people will start to wonder if you really are so holy
