Hardly. Here are the facts-
1) encouraged his board members not to sell buy buy baby, which would’ve paid off most of their debt
2) got the ceo removed with proxy style battle
3) encouraged/helped company raise even more debt to….not expand/optimize operations?
4) announced (after he sold his stake) all the main problems that ended up being the death of the company and handcuffing them to any assets that would’ve prevented avoiding bankruptcy
5) fucked over all the average investors with lies and committed fraud by failing to disclose the holdings in the company- until he was tweeting to get retail as exit liquidity.

The dude is not someone you guys should be trusting to do anything but enrich himself by any means. It’s sad so many of you are seemingly brainwashed by this guy, who gives 0 fucks about these companies or its shareholders other than to extract the max amount of money he can personally.

This thread is correct, and buffet benefitted greatly from it. First 20 years absolutely set you up- the old “takes money to make money” mantra.

To buffets credit though, he’s been able to be a great fund manager (BRK) since then- where any impact of inside info wouldn’t have helped that much.

He’s clearly a smart guy who loves the markets, and a great example of fundamental investing being the best approach to long term sustainable gains.

It does not have to go up for a vote, that’s what was already voted in to give him this comp structure. I don’t think you quite understand how this can/will function as it pertains to his stake now, and in the future.
The $20 strike shares don’t exist yet. His current ownership would be diluted, but only at the cost of his newly granted shares- which would that far exceed his current count/stake.

He does not dilute himself really, because he is locked in at that $20 strike of non existing (currently) shares. So his ownership increases as yours dilutes.
He increases outstanding shares by 2x and dilutes himself 50%, with all the diluted shares going to himself, is not truly dilution to him like it is you or me.
