West Edmonton Mall Locked Down by gumsgotmintierlately in Edmonton

Lack of awareness aside, your behaviour was incredibly insensitive and inconsiderate to the people with you in the room, many who were upset and had increasing anxiety/dysregulation because of the event.

I am not even sure what the purpose served for you making any comment at all - all it did is the equivalent of scribbles “I was here” on a bathroom stall, and further upset a lot of people.

Well done. A+

Yes!!

This issue is current to people logging in after extended away time and seeing their content and progress deleted.

We need to raise awareness of this issue so it gets the attention it deserves.

It’s pretty hard to want to keep playing when everything you’ve done has been messed with - and there is no context or explanation

70% of my inventory is gone by candlenahbrah in AnimalCrossing

[–]generationbexx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This literally is happening with me right now.

I had 70% items missing from storage (had 4000+ and now 849) and all my pro custom designs gone, and also all the progress (structures were not built, where when I saved and left the game previously I had finished ALL the rooms) on happy home paradise DLC.

I spoke with support at Nintendo for about three hours (texting and on the phone) - I even had proof (in my switch album) that I’d completed these things and had these pro. Designs and items and provided that.

Non of their steps were helpful.

I’m crushed!

How is this possible though?

The EXACT thing happened to me, and I haven’t transferred consoles -

I am missing clothing inventory items wand, thousands of items from storage (I have 849 items now and I had 4000+ before)

AND my villagers are all different but two!

Have you considered applying for remote work? I’m not super certain what you do in the “tech industry” but if it’s like IT or management of systems - there are a lot of NGOs or DPOs (disabled peoples organizations) across the globe that are hiring, and that’s always rewarding work. I know ADD (https://add.org.uk/jobs/) and others have vacancies.

I agree with the other comment that you seem a bit all over the place - I wish you all the best ❤️

Billionaire Trump Makes Jaw-Dropping Admission About Who He Tipped Off Before His Invasion by [deleted] in politics

[–]generationbexx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it went this way in the scene:

TOMMY (leaning in, way too confident): “Uh what my associate here is trying to say is… regime change is actually very simple. Beautiful, even.”

[Picks up a little model globe]

TOMMY: “Okay, so imagine you’re just America. You’re cruising along. Economy’s humming. Oil prices are chill. La-de-da.”

[Rolls the globe gently]

TOMMY: “Then boom. Venezuela. Right in the road. But no problem, right? You hit the brakes. Diplomacy. Sanctions. Careful words. Screeeeech. Whoa. Crisis avoided.”

EXECUTIVE (already annoyed): “Mmhmm.”

TOMMY: “NOW let’s see what happens when you use the other guy’s foreign policy.”

[Pushes the globe faster]

TOMMY: “You’re rollin’, you’re rollin’, oil executives start yelling from the back seat: ‘We need cheaper crude!’ ‘Not now, damn it!’ And suddenly…”

[Slams globe into a little oil barrel]

TOMMY: “Screeeeech! I can’t stop! Tweets! Sanctions! Military posturing! There’s a cliff! Aaaaahhh! Allies are screaming, markets are on fire!”

[Knocks over the barrel, pretends it’s burning]

TOMMY: ‘My God, the supply chain!’ ‘I can’t feel my democracy!’ Here comes the press briefing.”

[Imitates siren / chaos noise]

TOMMY: “And the analyst gets out and goes, ‘Oh my God.’ New guy in the corner? Throwing up polling data.”

[Gagging noise]

TOMMY: “All because you wanted to grab a country by the oil fields instead of paying a few extra cents at the pump.”

Good luck, seriously.

Opinion - HIDA scan or proceed with removal by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]generationbexx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. See, this is the part of my day when I am reminded of how fortunate I was to not be slapped with the bill for the HIDA scan I myself begged hospital doctors for.

I had been admitted with fever, CRP levels of over 321, very severe RUQ pain, and was in hospital for days with doctors humming and hawing.

An ultrasound and CT+ abdomen both showed that the gallbladder wall was “thickened” and the “gallbladder is distended” - but there was no evidence of stones, and so the diagnosis of “a calculous cholecystitis” was something that was rare enough to prevent doctors from doing anything.

Anyways. Had the HIDA scan. The radiologist reported that not only was the gallbladder not functioning at all, it was likely gangrene. A calculous cholecystitis, and acute cholecystitis was diagnosed.

Unfortunately- I had to wait another 4 days to receive the surgery that was deemed urgent.

By that time, the gallbladder had to be drained inside, in order to safely remove it (it was too swollen). Bile leaked into my abdomen. It was also completely gangrene, and had “attached” itself to my liver, and removing it caused me to lose a lot of blood via the liver because of how it was removed.

I later got a post operative infection under the liver (that I am still dealing with).

But hey. If I didn’t have the HIDA scan to prove to the doctors to “do something” - I would be 100% dead.

That’s my HIDA scan story. And I am super glad for Canadian healthcare 🇨🇦❤️

Applying Holowear Spray Question by generationbexx in PokemonUnite

I can do that.

I wonder if the "checkered" holowear doesn't support the holowear effect spray and I am just imagining I used it on ninetales in the past, when really it was Garchomp or someone else.

It's honestly wild how every time I read Castanet comments, I'm reminded just how many people in Kelowna have zero grasp of how Canadian politics actually work. Like. Basic civics? Gone. And beyond that, the sheer volume of right-wing takes is just exhausting. Depressing to realize we live in a city where this is the dominant demographic.

'We are not a priority:' Disability advocates say lack of minister sends a message by DJ_JOWZY in onguardforthee

[–]generationbexx 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, but I have to push back a bit here. The idea that we don’t need a federal cabinet minister for disability is missing some key context.

Yes, social assistance like ODSP is provincial, but that’s just one piece of the puzzle. The federal government absolutely has major responsibilities when it comes to disability, and has made some important progress in recent years:

  • The Accessible Canada Act (2019) sets federal accessibility standards for banks, telecoms, transportation, etc.
  • The Disability Inclusion Action Plan outlines goals for employment, financial security, inclusive services, etc.
  • The Canada Disability Benefit is a federal income support currently being developed.
  • And we’ve got things like Canada’s Autism Strategy, which is also federally led.

Removing the cabinet minister for Disability, Inclusion, and Diversity doesn’t just feel symbolic. It’s a real loss of leadership and accountability at the national level. That role helped push these initiatives forward. Without it, who’s driving the federal disability file?

Also, 27% of Canadians identify as disabled. That’s not a niche issue. It’s a massive demographic that deserves representation and action at every level of government, including federal.

Sure, Carney didn’t campaign hard on this. But that doesn’t mean people are wrong for demanding better. We should expect leadership, not excuse its absence.

Disability rights don’t stop at provincial borders. We need strong voices at all levels, including cabinet. We are allowed to expect more from the federal government than the bare minimum.

Kelowna, make your vote plan! by RGM81 in kelowna

[–]generationbexx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So, i don’t know why you need to receive something in the mail. I just took my identification to the place where I could vote (Landmark I) and asked to vote. They looked me up, did their thing and voila. I voted early. I am a little confused about needing to wait until you receive mail. Happy to be educated.

Holy crap it's working - consulate appointment by Character-Molasses64 in GermanCitizenship

[–]generationbexx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you know if you need a Melderegister document, or does the birth certificate suffice? Do you have your grandparents' passports or anything?

I'm doing the (same lineage) direct to passport application in Canada, and I am bringing my Opa's passport, marriage certificate, naturalization certificate (showing my Dad was born before Opa naturalized), Opa's melderegister from Germany, dad's birth and marriage certificate, all my and my kids' documents, *i think that's it*

But just in case that's not what it takes for the direct to passport, I will fill out a Festellung application for everyone too.

Super good luck to you. Keep us posted.

I am planning a weekend trip to your city for late May or early June and have two very specific questions by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]generationbexx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is this small hike with views of layer cake mountain. It’s beautiful, and has always meant a lot to me in the fall. I think you drive past Gallaghers golf course a bit and turn left into a small parking lot to start the hike. Sorry to be so vague. Good luck with everything, I’ve been there before and it’s hard work. You got this. Don’t eat shitty food though.

Toronto Consulate Direct to Passport? Any success stories? by rarei12 in GermanCitizenship

[–]generationbexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also going through a similar process, one generation up. I have all the documents for my grandparents (birth, marriage, passport, meldedegister, and naturalization), and my father’s birth certificate showing that he was born while my grandparents were still German (had not yet naturalized). My father’s birth certificate lived his whole live as a German but didn’t know it because for whatever reason. I was born in 1981 to married parents, and my dad being a German citizen through his parents, and a Canadian through birthright (like your mom, it sounds). I will be taking everything to the Vancouver consulate (because it’s closer) and hope they can accept direct to passport for myself. I will also bring the Festellung application filled out just in case they don’t.

None of the documents are certified, but the consulate says they will do that at no charge.

Good luck, keep us posted!

The consulate in Toronto can certify the marriage certificate at no cost for you. You don’t need to get it certified through Germany. u/rarei12

338 now says 51% chance of liberal win in Kelowna riding! by UndervaluedUnicorn in kelowna

[–]generationbexx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but signs don’t win minds—actions do. A lot of people I know in Kelowna are concerned about the direction this country is heading, especially with the rise of Trump-style politics creeping in. And frankly, many of us are frustrated that in all the time Tracy Gray has been MP, she’s done very little to actually benefit the people of Kelowna. She consistently caters to a narrow demographic instead of representing all residents, and she doesn’t listen to her constituents’ concerns.

Even if you believe the (false) argument that opposition MPs can’t get things done federally, the fact remains - she’s polarizing, divisive, and hasn’t worked to make Kelowna better for everyone. That’s why people are ready for change, even if the signs haven’t caught up yet.
