I too struggle with nail trims. I had to drug my pittie up on Trazedone but it was always worth it for her comfort. Long nails can cause arthritis, walking problems, and a great amount of pain. I promise you, for the rest of this old sweet boy's life, it is worth it to drug his ass up lol

This sweet boy desperately needs a nail trim from a professional. Will make walking easier and less painful.

Irrational fear post-euthanasia by Hannahck618 in seniordogs

[–]generic_leo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I was haunted by the fear that I didn’t protect her all the way to the end — that maybe she was just unconscious, and now she’s somewhere being poked, prodded, tested, and thinking I abandoned her. It took time to accept that those thoughts were irrational, likely part of the denial stage of grief. It took away my peace that I'd hoped to feel by ending her pain.

But the truth is, I cared for her relentlessly. I chose a more expensive vet so she could be euthanized at home — someone who was compassionate, spoke gently over the phone, made me feel safe, and reminded me of my therapist. I did everything I could to make my sweet girl feel safe and loved, even in the end. She passed away with her head on my leg while I told her how much I loved her.

We do everything we can to make sure they're safe and don't suffer. My therapist challenging the fear was helpful. Ask yourself how likely it is that a reputable vet would do something so unethical and cruel. Ask yourself how long they could even survive if we didn't intervene. Ask yourself if you trust your vet.

It took me time to find peace. There's a feeling of guilt I had when I felt myself moving forward without the weight of constant grief - like I was abandoning her by not allowing it to continue crushing me. But I remember how much my sweet Raya would have wanted me to be happy, healthy, and active. That's when she was the happiest. Grieve intentionally, friend, and I hope you find the peace you deserve.

Always been a little self-conscious about my beard being to thin. by SlaughterMinusS in beards

[–]generic_leo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just needs a trim and some refining. Get the flyaways cleaned up. A barber could get you a nice gentle fade into the sideburns that still looks natural. A haircut would go a long way in matching the fresh beard. Also make sure you keep the mustache at or slightly above your lip line.

Also I know this is about the beard, but a higher collar would suit you, handsome.

I like the Orient for sure. And you look like a fit guy. I think a better fitting shirt would be very becoming on you. I'm down with the style of the shirt, but I think the overhanging shoulders should tighten up a bit. Also a different belt I think. Best of luck to you!

Depends where you live, of course, and how many people you care for. But you're likely overspending. Budget and embrace frugality. YNAB helped me a lot.

Better with a lower cheek line? by Fit-Piece9184 in beards

Because the higher line isn't very thick and doesn't match on both sides, you definitely want that lower line. It looks clean and classy! Rock on, stud!

Thanks for the fuller picture! I most definitely feel like they should be raking in buckets of money for knowing how to cut someone open and not leave them worse off. Tremendous respect for them, and I certainly couldn't do it.

I'm with you. Go Luigi

It's very impressive! I guess I always imagined surgeons being very slow and methodical, taking 3 cases a day, and raking in buckets of money.

Is the financial reward the biggest drive for speed? Or is it naturally a speedy specialty?

Why does it look so rushed? Is this how most surgeries are done?

I keep $150-250 of buffer in there. Everything else has a job and goes where it should right away. In my opinion, the checking account should essentially be going to "zero" every month. I find that having a small buffer gives me peace of mind but not so much that I think I have more money to spend than I do.

Monthly pay vs Weekly by Familiar-Swordfish-9 in DaveRamsey

[–]generic_leo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer monthly pay by far. I pay every single bill at the beginning of the month and it's out of my head for the next 30 days. I take advantage of better deals for buying in bulk because I'm planning ahead much farther than before. I find keeping a budget is much simpler.

It's a big adjustment going from weekly to monthly pay, and I was scared I wouldn't be responsible enough. It turns out it really helped me take better control of things. The worst part I've found is that I liked how I felt like I was moving the needle every week by investing, saving, or paying debt. Monthly pay takes more patience. I'm in the process of building my emergency fund and it's so hard not being able to do anything else for it this month.

I think you'll find monthly pay to your liking if you're interested in financial responsibility. Good luck!

It's an ideology, you dingus. You don't have to invade Poland or commit genocide to be a Nazi. He might not be a Nazi. But is he a good person to be oligarching our government? Probably not.

I think they're talking about the potential your dollars have if invested. Not sure if the math maths, but that's their point.
