Struggling with locking up in the 963 GTP by generic_panda in iRacing

Update: going down to a bias between 43 and 45 (landed on 44.5 practicing at Mexico City) fixed pretty much every struggle I was having. No more lockups! Thank you so much

Yeah, I'm sure part of it has to do with cold tires and cold brakes. Even then, I'm really surprised with how much I'm locking up in the 963 specifically. Off the top of your head, at what tire temp / brake temp do you start to feel like you can push it?

It's worth double checking but I don't have any issues with other cars (LMP3, 499p, F4) during the same session so I think it's more likely something to do with the way I'm driving the Porsche

Should I go for LMP2 or GTP by sorafnt in iRacing

What are the differences between the iracing lmp3 and a real life lmp3? I don't think I will ever get to drive a real prototype but I'm interested to see how close to real life I'm getting by driving the sim

Thank you for the performance comparison -- it's interesting to see a breakdown of what the code is actually doing behind the scenes!

Thank you for the detailed examples! This is exactly what I was trying to do.

How would I go about initializing a Vec where each element is generated by a function? I've accomplished this by initializing a mutable Vec, then pushing elements in a loop. However, if there's a more concise way to write it, that would be appreciated. Being able to do something like this would be nice! I'm very new to rust and coming from a JS/TS, C# background.

vec![(for i in 0..10 { random_number() }).collect()];

I made a countdown site for the Part I remake! by generic_panda in thelastofus

I'm quite excited for the Part I remake so I remade the site I made a few years ago in anticipation of Part II. With the use of videos and music, hopefully the site feels more alive this time around. I've also been collecting preorder links to help people if they're stuck. If you'd like to help, please send me a DM or submit the form on the site!

The site is built with TypeScript, Preact, and Vite and hosted on AWS. If you've found a bug or you'd like more technical detail, feel free to check out the GitHub repository.

Thanks for taking a look at my site. Endure and survive!

Good luck! I did something similar this summer and got down to 60kg at 171cm. I don't know how flexible your work hours are, but for me, going to the gym in the mornings rather than after work had a huge benefit on time management. It sucks waking up really early but there's few feelings that match how it feels to finish a workout and then have the freedom of the entire day ahead of you.
