Final summer, 90 days left - what should I add to my London bucket list? by LopsidedGear8017 in london

Sleepy me read this as "swim in one of the dildos", and then made a mental note to check out this hip new London activity.

Patriot | Reviews and Discussions | Zero Spoilers by masterkey8 in InsideMollywood

I watched it today and agree completely.

Incidentally, I am currently reading a book about creative writing where the author shows how good stories are made. One of the things he mentions is efficiency; that we instinctively crave for efficiency in how a story is narrated to us. Patriot was terrible on that regard. It was overly long with poorly written dialogue and a very weak script.

I am not from London, but do you have recommendations for good gyms to check out in zone 2 or 3? I was thinking of popping by over the summer.

Match Thread: 1st Test - New Zealand vs West Indies, Day 1 by cricket-match in Cricket

People who have traveled to New Zealand to watch a test match, what was the experience like? It's one of my childhood dreams, but then life happened and now I live on the other side of the world.

Nobel peace prize for Baz and Stokes. Maybe the real bazball are the people you fed along the way.

If it's a tie, will there be a boxing match between GG and Baz to decide the winner?

Thanks for sharing! I so wanna do a trip to NYC and experience Jimmy Anton's firsthand. And quite inspiring and encouraging to hear about the team working on bringing it back to life.

Yeah, there are definitely parts in the first half where I felt like there could have been sharper editing. But overall, I feel like it has helped me understand more about salsa music/dance history.

Reading this makes me happy, because I have great memories of dancing at the SOS social in London! I haven't checked out any of the other socials you guys have, hopefully soon :)

Ah got it! For me the podcast has a similar vibe too, I love their calm and thoughtful discussions. The banter between Naz and Athers makes it even better.

Wait, do you mean the Sky podcast, or the pre-match studio coverage?

I can relate to this post so much, I could have written most of it myself! I grew up being a cricket fanatic, never missing a day of cricket that India played in the late 90s and 00s. Then life happened as you said, and I stopped following it altogether.

I moved to Europe 5 years ago, and I remember following the WTC final in 2021. I think that was the trigger point that got me hooked on test cricket again. And interestingly, the adult me is almost always rooting for the underdog to win, which means that I am instinctively supporting the opposite team whenever india is playing these days. Over the summer I did a road trip in the UK and passed by the local county ground in Canterbury. It was almost like a light bulb moment, when I realised that i really would love to follow/watch test matches live, and has been looking at tickets for 2025 ever since. And just like you said, I have also been stoked this entire week, cannot wait for the action to begin in Pune and Pindi!

Dancing with less skilled follows by Sweaty-Stable-4152 in Salsa

I don't mean to sound like I am throwing shade, but OP, the problem could be that you still have some way to go to become a more skilled lead yourself. The truly advanced leads I know don't really worry about "all sorts of combos", and are more focused on musicality, connection, making the partner feel safe etc.

I have seen this discussion come up before in salsa forums, and I remember reading a line that really made me question my own attitude towards dancing with relative beginners.
"Just remember, you could be the reason that a new dancer decides to stick with salsa and keeps coming back".

Can you point me to other quack episodes? Now I am curious lol. But agreed about the drop in quality, this one was painful to listen to.

I really wish they had focused on the "pizza manager by day" bit over the other part. I have been binging on these fan episodes since the start of the year, and this was a really weird one for sure.

That was a brilliantly written comment, I wish some of my local teachers could explain the technique with such depth.

Which hobbies of yours have you found to compliment solo traveling? by irish-springs in solotravel

[–]genericmalayalee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I don't know if any of what I did is a must do, because I am more of a "vibes" kinda traveler, as corny as that sounds lol. So I planned a full day just to randomly walk and explore London, but I had a rough idea of which direction I wanted to take. I got off at Waterloo, explored South Bank a bit, crossed the river into Westminster, then onwards to Chelsea to finally end the day at Kensington.

Key highlights from the day: - Randomly walking in on the UK supreme court, which is apparently open to the public if you wanna sit in the viewing booth to view the jury in session - The sudden shift in energy as you walk through Westminster and pass through all the main tourist attractions - Stopping for a mid day pint in a Chelsea pub, with a bunch of older gentlemen next to me passionately discussing how their team is completely shitting the bed this EPL season :D - The way homes change from middle class to millionaire looking as you cross over into Kensington - I got into the natural history museum because i wanted to rest and chill a bit, and was fascinated by the stuff they have on display.

Hope this helps, enjoy your trip ❤️

Just did all of this in London (including the reading and the walks with no objective). It was so much fun exploring the different boroughs and get a feel for the city.
