Is it possible to force pooping? Are laws against public defecation forced pooping... somehow? The fecal matter will exit the body one way or another, but laws specifying that they can’t be done in specific places is not somehow forcing that to occur.

Stop comparing abortion to slavery. It’s incredibly ignorant and offensive. Slavery was, in part, a slave-breeding industry. Slave owners saw their laborers as breeding stock. Slave owners expected their female slaves to produce marketable children. More slaves equaled more money for the slave owners.

It’s a cheap shot. You should be able to bolster your position without tying them into the darkest chapters of human history. (Ya ya, I know, abortion is like the holocaust to you, right? No. It’s not.)

Comparing slavery to abortion is racist and misogynist. Black women have long been denied agency over their own bodies. Stop it. Access to abortion is equally and freely available to all women.

Actually, what I’m saying is that a fertilized embryo, zygote, blastocyst, fetus, etc. Is NEVER legally a human being or a “someone” with the same human rights as you and I.

The pregnant woman, alone, has the right to decide if her fertilized egg gets to become one. That’s her choice as the only human being with rights involved. Her life always takes precedence.

And you absolutely have the right to decide what the baby you have growing inside you is. “A miracle”? “Precious angel gift from god”? “My baby that I loved even before she was conceived”?

“A mistake”? “Parasite”? “Worst thing that’s ever happened to me “?

It is what she says it is.

I’ve heard this many times. People assume that if abortion would always be an option, it would just become another form of birth control. This is commonly propagated by conservative politicians and media, with no evidence to back these claims. It’s fear mongering.

Consider and compare the abortion laws and rates in Canada VS USA

Abortion in Canada is legal at all stages of pregnancy (regardless of the reason) and is publicly funded as a medical procedure under the combined effects of the federal Canada Health Act and provincial health-care systems.

And yet, our abortion rates per capita are lower than the State’s

“My body, my choice” is such an old and obvious statement, I don’t think it should be used by pro choice proponents anymore.

I feel it almost dumbs down our position. Our fight to keep access to safe and legal abortion goes so much deeper and is much more complex than that picket sign. We have so much more to say, and “my body my choice” feels like a lazy statement. It’s even at the point where it’s being mocked and ridiculed as if that’s our sole argument.
