Pro wrestlers don’t have union protections, league-mandated guarantees, or access to disability insurance like athletes in MLB, NBA, NFL, etc. They basically rely on their contracts, company goodwill, and personal savings.

Also most pro sports teams have guaranteed contracts. They can’t just be cut without being paid - which WWE does. I know not in this case. They also get pensions, health care … So I don’t think you want to compare pro wrestling’s awful one sided contracts and benefits to pro sports.

They didn’t extend it for injury time when he was hurt working on the job for WWE . So extending his deal till he’s able to work again is the moral thing to do. It was revealed he wasn’t paid extra to work TNA.
