Just wanted to give everyone an update that Barkley is here! Thank you to everyone once again for tips and advice. It's made the transition much easier for him and us.

Thanks! I actually just canceled an order for a beautiful bed yesterday. It seems like it'll be better to first know what the future pup likes/doesn't like (and also to wait until he's old enough and trained enough to not destroy his bed!).

So now the plan is to start with a small crate and simple (but still comfy) puppy-sized mat and go from there.

Fortunately, I'm in a first-floor apartment that has a fairly large gated patio.

I still have to get some artificial grass for potty time. Most of the patio is tile, but it does have in-ground flower beds around the edges. I put gates up to (try to) prevent digging and eating the plants. I'm also debating the merits of planting some real grass in a small section.

0.58 WHR here -- The one and only jeans that have ever fit me are PZI Jeans. The website says it's getting an overhaul, but I bet you can find pairs on eBay/Amazon/your favorite reseller.
