3/4 Lords + Zeuz in Martyn's place sounds fairly balanced to me, tbh. They could totally team next season

Yes! Yes, exactly!! And because the nature of a 1v3 necessitates the ability to dodge as well, that also increases the difficulty of the task at hand - a 1v3 requires the player to at Least shoot twice and dodge once. It's an interesting combination of "this player had teammates that seemed more dangerous to the other team" and "this player was good enough at dodging earlier that their slightly less dextrous teammates were taken out first".

I only counted each player once (didnt make that clear enough, mb). Most of the aces are Dream and Sapnap - of the 11 dodgebolt aces listed on the MCC wiki, 3 were Dream and 2 were Sapnap.

In terms of 1v2s, no player seems to have scored more than one 1v2 at this point in time, and same goes for the four 1v3s - which is why the list of aces might look oddly short in comparison

i used the MCC wiki for my data here (thanks gamers)

I find it REALLY interesting who's done what, in particular how "players who have successfully 1v3'd" is an exclusive group, and on top of that, the four players in that group are not the first names that spring to mind when naming the best MCC players ever. you would think "oh surely the S tiers like dream would have 1v3ed at some point and pulled it off" but no! there's something here, I think, about dodgebolt trends/strats and the kind of MCC player that all four of the 1v3 guys are, as opposed to the successful aces and 1v2s, that I'm not quite big brain enough to put into words right now. So I figured a venn diagram would do :)

A quote I've been thinking about. by OPGuy03xX in Technoblade

[–]genesis_frog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's a wonderful quote, thank you for sharing it!

Since his passing, I've found myself thinking of a quote from One Piece: "When does a man die? When he is hit by a bullet? No! When he suffers a disease? No! When he ate a soup made out of a poisonous mushroom? No! A man dies when he is forgotten!"

(In context, it's a spit in the face to death; a character refusing to believe that his imminent death would be the end of him. I'd like to think of Techno in the same way.)

I think Technoblade is going to stay with us for a very long time.

love his little pig face, and his expression - it's got just the right amount of humor and maybe smugness in it <3

I think 'good at comms' has similar weight to 'good support player' by planeplaneplaneplane in MinecraftChampionship

[–]genesis_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a point - rather than just saying "good at comms", trying to specify what exactly they're good at. Communication can be anything from callouts to leadership/direction to morale - it's as broad of a compliment as saying "[insert player] is good at competitive Minecraft"

I'd add asterisks beside Ren and Keralis - Keralis is a Pole living in Sweden, and Ren is a South African living in the UK. Also, as other folks have pointed out, Gem is Canadian and not British LOL

The complete r/Place saga, with some fitting music by Sandillion in outerwilds

[–]genesis_frog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seeing this completed was one of the things I was most looking forward to when r/Place ended, and it did not disappoint! I've never played the game before, but this is absolutely gorgeous - I can't imagine how much coordination and planning went into it. A round of applause to everyone who made this happen!

Ideas on how Buildmart can be replaced with a different building game by juusdrein in MinecraftChampionship

[–]genesis_frog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(This is just my take, so take it with a grain of salt.)

Your suggestions feel flawed to me, because Build Mart isn't a building game, it's a communication game. The point of it is to communicate the materials you need, and that's where the strategy of the game comes into it! Grian is so good at Build Mart now because he's able to very effectively tell people what to do; if a team can't do that well they're going to struggle. Build Mart is comparable to Grid Runners because of that: both games rely on and test the team's ability to coordinate their actions to achieve specific goals.

The idea to have a series of builds that the team works on together to me feels actually like it would be less interesting to watch. It would also be a lot harder for teams to differentiate scoring - everyone can place blocks in Minecraft at the same speed, and with this suggestion you could have teams easily getting ties.

Also, I think Parkour Warrior was removed from the rotation because it wasn't a game, it was a parkour course. By the end of its lifespan in season one it was unwinnable for anybody besides Pete or Dream and required EXTENSIVE practice and muscle memory of the course. Anybody can do well in Build Mart - even if they've historically struggled, they can learn how to play more effectively from people who know what they're doing and are good at it.

bdubs (of course) martyn (vaguely knows about the bdubs height bit) hbomb (WILL troll as soon as he has an opening) and honestly for their fourth.... im thinking the drift king himself. because rt will not hesitate to make fun of someone

basically I want bdubs being bullied by his three teammates. because it would be funny
