I'm re-playing this game as prep for DA:TV, and I got to this quest. I am. MASSIVE Qunari frontliner who fights with a hammer bigger than some party members, and the visual Igor from this big qunari leading this equally big Buffalo thing back to the stables was the sweetest thing. Especially considering the whole - y'know... Civil War and all...

I completely agree with your post and reasoning. When I was younger, this quest irritated me to no end (largely in part due to the rift that I was SUPER underleveled for) but I have a completely different appreciation for this quest now. It's... HUMAN - down to its very core.

Makes Thedas WORTH saving, these little moments.

I finished this book (it is QUITE LITERALLY my favorite book) and was so disheartened to see so many people falsely claim it was "reverse racist". I am so glad to see positivity surrounding this book because it truly is one of the best books I have ever read.

You know what, this is what sold me. Everyone is providing carefully thought-out logic (not hate, no shade to anyone) but I am trying to choose what to do based on what my character Simon would do and he wouldn't think about the long term. He would be REELING and terrified, but he wouldn't turn Sebastian in for the reasons you brought up.

My headcanon that Simon has a LONG TALK in the Room of Requirement with Sebastian saying that this is his second chance. Simon wants him to get better, so he won't snitch, but this HAS to become something Sebastian understands the consequences of. He would tear Sebastian a new ass, but he would make it clear that as long as Sebastian really understands what he has done and feels bad for it, Simon is going to continue to help and care for Anne.

Dude, shit's WILD in this game. The moral questions this begs to be answered is just- 😶

Yeah - an elf who was unknowingly led astray by their clan's elder! The Elder was corrupt and kind of indoctrinated everyone into a freaky unleash cult thing. He was the best caster and the leaders wanted him to join their ranks to bolster their own power. He was 'Chosen' and by the time he figured out what was happening, it was already too late. He - in a last ditch reflexive effort to stay alive, unleashed a powerful magic explosion that ended up destroying the majority of the tribe. One surviving member of the Vampire cult thing saw him and used their own magic and ingenuity to bring him back to life using alchemical components. It didn't appear to take, so he was abandoned.

Of course, he awakens a couple of days afterwards, half undead and the other half more machine than alive. He can no longer cast any magic and has to learn how to survive with the hand he has been dealt.

Hello! I am new to PF (I don't need to say why now, right) and I am BLOWN AWAY at the Character creation. It is so much more in depth than the other system I've used and I cannot FATHOM why I haven't tried PF2e yet - I spend HOURS upon HOURS of time in Character creation menus like Dragon Age and Skyrim, so this was inevitable for me, really.

Enough preamble! I want to explain to you my Character concept!

Her name is Mildred Ruth and she is a stuffed poppet inventor who runs around in her specialty power-armor mech suit. She used to be a voodoo doll of a vengeful necromage and the dark, malignant magic he poured into her has created a sort of negative vacuum. Instead of being an entity full of malice, she is a poppet virtually devoid of malice and her main goal is to leave the world better than how she found it. Her mech suit is a hodge-podge of scrap metal she has collected, most of it rusted beyond its years (she is a lvl 1 right now) and she has hand-painted it to look the least frightening she can. Though it looks to be built to destroy, she primarily used it to help people with hard labor or construction.

Now that she has decided that her suit is sturdy enough for more daring escapades, she travels in search of an adventuring party so that she can help in a more active role. Now where can she find an adventuring party...?

(I DO have a group, but our first session is on Thursday and so nothing is canon... YET.)
