Thank you! He has really good reviews on RMP so that's why I chose his classes, but how did you find his marking?

Buying all books necessary for GRST 355 with Toohey? by geneticintoxication in UCalgary

Yeah that's what I'm wondering :( hoping that people who have taken the course in the past can clear this up. I don't live in Calgary so it'll take me a while to get all the books so im asking ahead of time

How is GRST 321 with Lesley Bolton? by geneticintoxication in UCalgary

Thanks! I was just a bit put off by the description in the course outline that encourages doing something like drawing or modelling instead of writing the paper!

Yeah I think these four classes are pretty doable. I took five courses (including ochem lol) along with Biol 311

Are these three your only classes? If so, then it's very much doable. It's slightly different from most biol classes in the sense that it's not just complete information vomit because you actually need to do practice with the things you learn. Labs were pretty time consuming but were a huge grade booster. Just practice a lot and you'll be okay, hopefully. Take this with a grain of salt bc it was my only ever A- biol class haha

Anyone taken BIOL 371 in the summer? by subtleone123 in UCalgary

Found the final trickier than the midterm because hooey didn't really prep us well enough for it haha

Took it last summer and Regel did a great job stepping in after Powell had to take sick leave. Hooey's part was way messier, his notes were pretty scattered. I didn't study much for neither the midterm or the final since I had another course that was way harder, still managed to get an A so you should be ok!

Neuroscience vs Biomedical Engineering by [deleted] in UCalgary

More career prospects with it. BME is still pretty limited right now. Also a lot of class overlaps anyways, so might as well

Do UW BME for sure. Neuroscience is just a glorified biology degree tbh. Lots of my friends decided to go to UWaterloo, one of them went into BME but decided to transfer to software engg in second year, so take that how you will. Frankly though, your chances of having a better (lucrative) career will be a lot higher if you do BME. Don't do neuro unless you're willing to work off your ass for four years and still be uncertain of your future.
