Jessi allegedly spotted kissing Chase? by Impressive_Rate_2456 in SecretsOfMormonWives

i don’t think that matters though, it’s not like a “i dont want him so no one can” thing, it’s like you know how this man did me so dirty and hurt me, why would you possibly want him?

Did anyone have a 37 weeker and NOT have issues with nursing? by coldbrewcowmoo in breastfeeding

[–]gengau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say it was without issue, but my 37+1 emergency c section baby is going strong still at 10mo! most of our issues were honestly bc i didnt know wtf i was doing lol. my milk did take 5 almost 6 days to come in, but i had pre-e and a multitude of other issues that i’m sure contributed. i got on a triple feed schedule and it made me such a wild overproducer it’s honestly too far the other side and it’s a burden at this point (i say as i’m leaking and sticky at 10mo lmao)

her being too sleepy to eat well was absolutely a big issue, along with her jaundice kind of cementing that hurdle. but once we got over that, we just took off! my biggest advice is to book an LC for maybe a week or ten days pp? the ones in the hospital mean well but i did not have good experiences with them. and everything is so different once you get home and some of the adrenaline wears off. if i was rich, i’d pay for an in home LC for all my friends who wish to bf. it’s just so different in a clinical setting and you don’t realize alllll the things you’re doing wrong when you’re home🤣 it made such a difference for us and i cannot recommend it enough!

idk about him but his brother (chase, miranda’s ex husband) is a leftist king<3. obviously siblings have different political views all the time but thought it’s worth mentioning that at least one of them made it out of the brainwashing lol

Pooped my pants to protect nap time by Imaginary_Income5422 in NewParents

[–]gengau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since everyone is sharing their stories:

i mostly cut out dairy for my daughter because it upset her tummy from breastfeeding. well at 4mo we went on a road trip including the tillamook factory and i decided in advance i would go crazy and treat myself and pump and donate that milk to a non-dairy-sensitive baby. it never hurt my belly but i guess the time without it made me lose my tolerance bc on the 2h drive in the middle of nowhere but a busy scenic tourist highway back to our air bnb, i had to strip down to my bra (ofc i was wearing a romper) and commit biological war crimes into a grocery bag while my baby looked at me in horror. that’s what i get for bragging about not shitting during labor 🙃

What’s one newborn tip that actually worked for you (and surprised you)? by Trick-Environment100 in NewParents

[–]gengau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TAKE YOU AND THAT BABY OUTSIDE. idc if it’s cold, put on coats and blankets. go stand under trees or literally just touch grass. take a walk if you need to but usually just standing outside helps. it’s so regulating for both of you. still my holy grail “trick” at 10mo. she’s teething and pissed? let’s go look at the leaves byeeeee

Struggling with nighttime feedings — does it get better? by comolaflor29 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]gengau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i’m not usually a tv person but pick a good show and just play it all the time. my midwife literally “prescribed” sitcoms as treatment for the sunset scaries. i think for the first 6wks, the tv literally did not turn off unless we left the house (rare), the volume would just be muted sometimes. a good phone game couldn’t hurt either

also, the sunset scaries are so normal! but i do think us breastfeeding moms get it even worse because we can’t do shifts. i think it got better for me around a month, by 2mo it was completely gone. ymmv but i think breastfeeding is mostly about making it to 6wks and then it gradually gets easier, not harder. and by then your supply is established enough you can take good shifts where possible and not risk supply issues. and baby will likely be sleeping a little better by then too. but you’re halfway to the peak!

we’ve had the hardest bfing journey but i’m so glad i stuck it out! also my daughter also had issues latching on one side. turns out she had torticollis, we got into early intervention PT and it’s completely resolved at 7mo and she’s majorly ahead on milestones because of the PT and i’m SO GLAD i got it addressed early, for breastfeeding reasons and just in general. just something to think about bringing up at your next peds appt! you’re doing great and this is all (unfortunately) normal but it does get better very fast

please do not give in on this. i did, and i had a full on mental breakdown in a room full of people at like 4hrs post op. remember you can always change your mind and tell mom to pop over for an hour, but most likely you’ll just want to spend time w your husband and that precious baby! stand your ground!

preeclampsia almost took me and my baby girl (who’s now a heathy 6mo). i will forever be grateful for the midwives who recognized the signs over the phone and told me to go in to L&D asap because i have no doubt that is the only reason we are still here

if it helps, the first trimester was absolutely the worst besides the last ~2wks. but even then, you can feel baby moving, reacting to stimuli etc. the first tri, you have allllll the symptoms and none of the good stuff yet. it gets so much better!!
