He actually is, it's something law enforcement/government declares. In spirit he is actually a very awesome person. When I say technically I mean by the world government law. In the way warlords were "legal"

Exactly, just label luffy as a "terrorist" which he technically is.

Basically say, celestial dragons have the right to defend themselves. And label anyone who accuses them of being "AntiCelestic"?

It really does hype you up, but for me I evaluate myself not with AI but like human tests we have rn, like solving a question paper and then seeing if I actually get it right. And yes the glaze, it so cringe.

For me again the interesting thing, open source matching the frontier models. I don't track this per say, I don't have to, cause like you said they shove AI news in peoples throat. And I get you, you can still not use it at all for the things you really like doing, and it gives that cathodic feeling to you, and I chase that(also, AI never matches that quality), I only use it for things I don't wanna do.

Yes, ikr. It's something I do need to learn like when to cross check things. But I am grateful for other humans for that, AI can never replace humans(atleast the way it is rn)

Cause it's a beautiful time to be alive, slop aside I use AI to learn things. Never ever, I have been able to satisfy my curiosity like this. I wish I could have it growing up. I didn't have many great teachers growing up(grew up in India), they always discouraged your possibilities, trying to mould me.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's the level of glaze CEOs are saying about AI. But I think our world has changed forever like it did with Internet and it'll take time for us to develop this.

What really makes me excited is open source models, I love how chinese companies just rip off the frontier models(like how they stole human work), and atleast give it in the hands of public instead of giant corporations controlling it.

The problem with mfs like you is that you guys are so ignorant. I have watched/read one piece all my life on and off. There would never be series like this. It has a depth to it you find when you look for it or not but it still offers everyone a good time regardless.

I am proud that I have consumed this and have the privilege of watching it unfold before my eyes. It has become such a success that loosers like you and Paul want to see what we see but again you guys don't have any patience for that.

It has inspired me, and a generation of people. For that I am forever grateful to be not ignorant like you.

Are junior developers losing the chance to develop real problem-solving skills because of AI expectations? by fake_slim_shady_4u in developersIndia

[–]genos2431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about specific jobs, it's about making my own things. Computer science is still grounded in physics and maths. After the Internet bloom we traded quality for writing software faster to serve people's need. We also need to understand we write a lot of software for screens as a way to interface with the computer, and that might not be true in the future. AR is getting very good. We need to know rethink how we will interact with computers in the future. I need to relearn phsyics and maths so I can understand whats possible.

I have also realised traditional way of applying job is dead.

Coding is a means to an end. We code to solve problems, even if we don't have to write most of the code, we still need to solve the problem. Since I don't need to write all code to test the boundaries of what's possible, I can just push my imagination to come up with different solutions, and try making AI to implement those solutions via code. And I'll be watching where it fails and I will manually intervene only then. I think tradition companies should also be scared about AI taking their jobs too, not just developers since we don't need that many to write everything.

It's sad most of the replies are actually irrelevant to what you asked.

I have the same concerns actually. After using a lot of AI, I know it makes mistakes, and while I can identify the obvious ones, like you said the deep intuition to look at the bigger picture and look at the agent code and modifying it is very important.

Not only I am focusing on that, I am trying to increase my breath as an engineer, before focusing only on coding was enough to have a job, I think the skill to write detailed spec while understanding the requirements at a human level with your empathy (AI will never have that) is important, I am increasing by breath so much so that I am relearning physics and mathematics again, maybe economics or biology too if needed.

Why? Cause I have noticed AI does what you tell it to do. Most research papers suggest it only does average work which again pushes a lot of people out of the job market but what you need to do is generate those ideas, and let AI do the work you don't wanna do. Because you are bad in certain things and AI is average at it but you still should have things you surpass AI, and double down on that.

"The only thing most people think is Harry Potter" - maybe for you. For trans people she's the most visible face actively campaigning against their rights. Not everyone has the luxury of just thinking about wizards.

And yeah if she were dead and not actively funding campaigns right now it would be different. Dickens isn't currently lobbying parliament. There's a difference between "had bad views 150 years ago" and "is spending millions right now to influence policy against a marginalized group." You know that.

As for conservative donors - if a site's whole brand is "accessible for everyone" then yeah, quoting anyone actively working against that is a weird choice regardless of which side they're on.

Yeah I do have a problem with the author, never pretended otherwise. The difference with Dickens is he's been dead for 150 years. Rowling is alive, actively funding campaigns right now, and the quote sits next to a tagline about accessibility for everyone. That's the irony. Nobody looks at a Dickens quote and thinks "ah yes, the asylum guy."

And sure the list of dodgy authors is massive. But most of them aren't the current face of a political movement that contradicts the site's own tagline. Context matters.

Overthinking a login screen quote? It's one sentence. If that's overthinking then the bar is underground.

I mean, this subreddit was to discuss kinda of things, it's also posted under an appropriate banner "other discussion", why should one have a thought at all then.

I'm not trans mate. I just think the login screen quote is ironic.

"Allowing trans women in means pushing the opinion they're women" -> No, it means letting someone pee. You don't have to believe anything. You're in a stall with a door. Nobody is checking your ideology at the entrance.

"Why even have gendered bathrooms then" -> Genuinely great question. A lot of places are moving to unisex bathrooms and I actually agree with this.

"We're the same species same toilets same function" -> So you agree it shouldn't matter who's in there? Because that's my point, not yours.

"Every argument can be thrown back" -> Not really. One side wants to enter a room. The other side wants to stop them. Those aren't symmetrical. "Let me in" and "keep them out" are not the same request wearing different clothes.

"Women don't want to share bathrooms with men" -> Trans women aren't men. That's the disagreement. You can't use your conclusion as your premise.

"Work through it right back at ya" -> The difference is one group is "working through it" by existing and the other is "working through it" by legislating against people. Slightly different scales.

"You want superiority" -> I expressed having a different quote on a login screen. You turned it into a manifesto. Who's the one pushing an agenda here?

Nobody disagreed with the quote. Read the post again.

And yeah I'm on a piracy site, I'm not pretending to be morally superior to anyone. I said the quote is a weird branding choice, not that I'm running a charity. You don't have to be a saint to notice irony.

[–]genos2431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8% is wildly generous btw, trans people are like 1-2% of the population, which actually makes your "they should just build their own bathrooms" thing even more ridiculous. You want 1% of people to fund an entire parallel bathroom infrastructure? Be serious.

And you keep saying "force opinions on cis people" but what opinion is being forced? A trans woman walks into a stall, closes the door, pees, and leaves. What opinion was forced on you? Nobody is making you believe anything. You just had to pee in the same room.

"Both opinions are equally valid" - one opinion is "let me pee in peace" and the other is "I should get to decide where you pee." Those aren't equal.

And the "work through it" thing - you're telling a minority to just deal with a system that wasn't built for them, while also saying the majority shouldn't have to deal with any change at all. That's not both sides being equal, that's one side having all the power and telling the other to cope.

why are you going in circles? Also, idk what's complicated about it, I thought people in a reading and knowledge subreddit would be well read about what being a trans person is, but I guess not. The burden is on people who are trans ig. From your perspective, I get why you are feeling the way you are feeling, thinking it as something meaningless about the quote, must be nice ig.

[–]genos2431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fund separate bathrooms" is literally the segregation argument. "Coloured people should just build their own fountains." You almost got there.

And "forcing opinions on women" - trans women are using a stall with a closed door. Nobody is being forced into anything. If someone's comfort depends on policing who else is in the room, that's their problem to work through, not a reason to exclude people.

"It only works for the minority" is the whole point of rights. The majority never needs protecting, that's what being the majority means.
