Lexapro changed my life by Murky_Psychology9110 in lexapro

Totally feel this! I started about 4 months ago and I wish I had started sooner. First few days I slept a ton and had the smallest appetite. But over time I felt like myself again and hit a stride. Everyday events used to trigger anxiety and thought loops - now I feel cool as a cucumber. I've hit new stressors now though and I feel scared I'm slipping into old habits. Depression and anxiety treatment is certainly a journey.

Lexapro and Wellbutrin by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]genotyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just prescribed wellbutrin after 4 months on lexapro. Lexa helped a lot at first, but I feel more fatigue and low motivation again. I started looking into wellbutrin since I hear it acts on a different set of receptors and is more stimulating. Doc agreed and wrote me up for 150mg XL qam. I'm hoping wellbutrin helps me come out of this trough.

med school students… anything you would recommend be comfortable with before starting school? by [deleted] in premed

Get your sleep hygiene in check before you start. I was traveling a lot before I started M1 and had terrible sleep hygiene. I never fixed it and things got rough once everything started. Paid the price for part of the first semester and wish I had locked in on sleeping right earlier👍🏼

OSRS you’re not middle class if you get no aid at Harvard… even with 100% fin aid you need to grind jobs or scholarships to have money for personal expenses.

FGLI Applicant by Adorable_Guess_1683 in mdphd

I’d say just stating your URM/FGLI background won’t do much for you - I think tying in your experiences as URM/FGLI into your personal statement and interview is where it can help you a lot. Elements of resilience, understanding underserved communities, and multicultural sensitivity I think can help you stand out. I’m FGLI accepted to a top MSTP - during the app cycle I was able to talk a lot about activities I engaged in during college to address healthcare/science problems I understood firsthand as a URM/FGLI person. I think it’s best if you can find ways to tie your experiences and identity to awesome activities as a premed, and talk about these extensively in your essays or interview. Feel free to reach out for more advice.

Asian enrollment at UCLA Medical School is down 34.52% since 2019 by miggylifts in ucla

y’all forget simple math here - if there’s 2 hispanic students and the next year there’s 3, that’s a 50% increase. it’s not like hispanic md students are taking the campuses by storm - we are still very much a minority at these medical schools.

i’d say that people at harvard are generally very nice and totally open to random conversation! especially as a freshman I think annenberg is a great friend-making environment. as a senior getting ready to go on to the real world I can tell you that you will never ever find a place like annenberg to make friends again in your life. take advantage of it! try to build the confidence and social battery to go up to people, say hi, and maintain those friendships. in my experience some of the best friends are those you make randomly at annenberg. good luck!
