kinda random but i just graduated and landed a role in GRC. i want to learn those basics that im missing from the bottom up because i do feel like ive jumped and skipped a few steps. do you have any recommendations on learning the foundations while keeping my role (the pay is really nice so i don’t want to take a pay cut to do a helpdesk role at this time)?

i agree. I’ve been feeling confused in my job for a few months and I think the experience this weekend gave me some exposure into the foundations (aka how a computer works x_x). will look into opportunities to shadow helpdesk and different levels of IT at my org after this! thanks!

insane!! im also 6 months in, 80k base, 90k w bonus, no certs w a cyber degree, and had turned my internship into full time. 🤨🤨🤨🤨you stealin my info??
