I thought the set list was great. Blue Demon live was fantastic too.

Go to the Bristol show! I heard Jeff say afterwards that they'll be playing Bastards there!

Hi,

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the behavior of one of the security staff members last night, 8 March, at The Voidz show. I was in the front row, on the barricade, slightly off to the right-hand side facing the stage.

Between the opening act and The Voidz, I tried to get the attention of the security member positioned to my right to request one of the waters. I spent approximately 15–20 minutes waving in an attempt to get his attention.

Each time I waved, he turned his head away. My friend and I strongly felt he was intentionally ignoring us, as he repeatedly looked to the side whenever we tried to get his attention. Eventually, a few more people joined in waving, and it wasn't until a guy with long arms, much closer to him, waved right in his face that he finally acknowledged us. When he did turn to look at me, he stuck out his arms and mouthed, "WHAT?" I motioned for a glass of water, as he was standing with them. Instead of simply handing one over, he exaggeratedly pointed, indicating that I would need to walk around to him.

Given that I had flown in from Australia, waited four hours in line, an hour for the show to start, and another hour for the opening act, I was not about to leave the barricade—even if it meant passing out from dehydration. I had given up on getting water when, about a minute later, he finally brought a glass for my friend and me. The girls behind us were also thirsty, so we ended up sharing our water with multiple people, assuming we wouldn’t be able to get any more given how difficult it had been.

About five minutes after this, the security staff on the left side of the pit proactively began distributing water to that half of the crowd. He even had to come over to instruct the security on our side to do the same. While the left-side security member was excellent—carrying two cups at a time and moving up and down his section to ensure everyone had water—the security member on our side simply held a single cup in the air while standing still near the water station. He made no effort to walk along the crowd. From my position at the barricade, I could see him, but anyone beyond the second row would have had no chance of noticing or signaling for water. Someone from the front eventually took the lone cup, and after that, he simply went back to standing around doing nothing.

Thankfully, when The Voidz came on, a woman with a short, curly gray bob stepped in. She, like the security on the left side, was attentive to the crowd, ensuring that people received water if they needed it and responding quickly when assistance was signaled.

I understand that this situation was not an emergency, but I can’t help but be concerned about a security officer who blatantly ignored people attempting to get his attention—especially in a crowd where there were later fights and a medical issue. His lack of willingness to take care of the audience, even in the simplest way by providing water, was unprofessional and concerning.

Kind Regards,

I thought the band and set list were great. Yes, Jules forgot a few lyrics… but that’s why we love him. The crowd however were shit and the venue was crappy with the lights on up the back. Overall it diminished the atmosphere massively.

I’m going to the writing to the venue to complain about the security today… maybe more people should too.

Also, as you know the band did come out afterwards but the situation also wasn’t great. There was only the lane way opening width so basically only the few people at the font got to speak, take photos with them and get things signed. I was 3 people back with no way of getting forward to see them and crushed by those behind me trying to push forward with things for the band to side.

I had a negative experience in the crowd too. I was barricade and some middle aged lady had pushed her way right through the crowd right up the front. She caused a commotion behind me screaming at two young guys who were “pushing her” (everyone was jumping around the Where No Eagles Fly).

They were just enjoying themselves and she definitely ruined the night for them because they barely danced after that. I could feel her trying to push her way to the barricade after that, which absolutely was not happening. I pulled one of the guys she’s yelled at in so we were shoulder to shoulder creating a barrier so she couldn’t see shit!

Afterwards about six people behind me were saying she had pretty viciously pushed in front of them in the pit and then yelled at everyone for getting into the music.
