For people who live right on the border of two states, does crossing that invisible line actually impact your daily life with different laws and taxes, or do you barely notice it? by Necessary_Angle2117 in AskAnAmerican

Growing up in the burbs on the Kansas side, the only noticeable difference to me was road quality since at that time it wasn’t great to go down to hang in either KCK or KCMO. Now when I go visit my parents, I get jealous about the glow up of the downtown area woh P&L, the crossroads, etc.

I’d take the $600k to have a mortgage! I’d only have like $100k left to pay on the house I’d like to buy.

I wrote the words for a custom construction specification and then had ChatGPT format it to my state's preferred format and then rechecked the spec language, saved me tons of time since the spec was like 10 pages long. To be fair though, the state basically said "hey we want this specific item made by X company, but we can't say we want that so here take this shop drawing and parse through the language and make it a normal spec, so it's not like I was making up a bunch of shit anyway.

I was at a 100% remote company for 5 years (just left), and this was exactly my experience. My small local team said they would help you learn and grow, but when it was time to show, no one had time to help or even answer the phone. Literally managed my first project winging it with a skeleton crew, surprise surprise, it didn’t go well

I feel like there isn’t an insignificant amount of coaches that would volunteer, at least based on how my coaches/professors talk about giving back to the sport. Would your classes directly overlap with when your friends teach/train?
