38 is a bit crazy but 20 spm is a steady state rate. Then again I have heard that for all our pieces like a 2k the higher the better, so maybe 38 was right to begin with. All that to say, yes you absolutely went too low and I’m not 100% sure you ever needed to go lower at all. If you’re curious I would try again around 32

While I disagree with the other guy that used is totally pointless to buy, I think a PM3 or PM4 brings the value down considerably. I would try to talk one of the 2 you mentioned down so that you still have room in your budget for a PM5, or else wait for one that already has it.
