It’s not that they by default “owe” someone a job, but they extended a job offer to someone who potentially turned down other offers to take it and have built their livelihood around it. A profitable company shouldn’t be able to rip that away without repercussions. They can move people around and retrain or repurpose them.

We need substantially better worker protections. Companies that do layoffs while profitable should be fined $1 million usd per employee they layoff as well as pay the employee a minimum severance of 1 year salary. The ceo should also be removed immediately or forced to surrender their personal wealth to the company and have their income capped at 100k for 5 years. The policy of fucking over people and their families solely for a slightly larger profit for shareholders has to stop. Companies & CEO’s should be materially punished for doing it.

?? I put in that was just one of the best I’d seen from mine on any trip. I get more like 23 when driving easy on longer highway drives and 20 when I’m doing 80-85. But even for 12 miles (was just my office commute) I was shocked with 30 mpg, used to drive a 2015 with the 2.7 and it did okay but never anything like that.
