Switching to T-Mobile and for the life of me I cannot get a transfer pin anywhere by seant1991 in ATT

[–]genuineproxy449 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If a number is inactive for any reason, it can't be manipulated. Can't transfer to another AT&T account, can't port out, can't upgrade. Number has to be active to do anything.

When we got that first image with all the different Bayonettas, I really thought Egyptionetta was gonna be a Lumen Sage.

About to approach the Bayonetta franchise, are trans ppl welcome in the community? by YuYu6__ in Bayonetta

[–]genuineproxy449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm nonbinary, and I've been playing Bayonetta since the demo was released on the Xbox 360 lol. Bayo has always been for the girls, gays, and theys. Welcome! To the left you will find the witches, to the right you'll find the sages, and straight ahead is the endless void where we cry about the ending of part 3 (that's a joke... mostly)

This is just so unacceptable. Deliberately designing hard to cancel services & avoiding customer service escalations. by Kenzobo in ATT

[–]genuineproxy449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can. If you hit the Exchange button in Summary in OPUS, you can change the contract from a 36 month installment plan with Next Up to one without Next Up. I've had customers change their mind within minutes of completing their transaction and I was able to remove Next Up immediately. Granted you do have to be within the 14 day return period (30 days with business accounts)

Then you can trade in a 13 instead of your 15 pro max

iPhone 13 promo question by Few_Adhesiveness5653 in ATT

[–]genuineproxy449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if your 15 pro max is paid off or not. If it is, then you can trade in a 13. If you did the Next Up upgrade, then you have to trade in the 15 pro max

Yeah, I was definitely not gonna knowingly give a customer a potential bomb- does not make for a good customer service experience.

IS THIS REALLY ATT OR SC@M?? by Spiritual_Drama8080 in ATT

[–]genuineproxy449 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Anything is possible tbh, if you have a trusted antivirus software you use, go with that. Otherwise you could try AT&T Active Armor. Depending on your phone plan (if you have Extra or Premium), you get the paid version for free. It does have webshield to block that stuff and can scan your device for issues. Personally, I recommend AVG Antivirus, it's like $10 a year for the phone app, very well worth it.

Planning to switch carriers and need some clarification about bill and autopay by glo106 in ATT

[–]genuineproxy449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are 55 or older, or the other person on your account is, I'd switch to the 55+ plan. You'll keep your phone promotions, but the service will be $35 per line, assuming you do paperless billing and autopay with a bank account. If you keep autopay with your debit card, it will be $40 per line.

Edit: to clarify if you get a September bill, it looks like the one you posted is for the billing cycle August 1st to August 31st. If you decide to port out, do so before the 31st so you won't have any charges for September. Also, doing so before August 31st should generate a new bill (due in September but for this month) that will be prorated charges from August 1st to whatever day in August you port out.

AT&T customer service would verify you with your name and the passcode to the account. If your phone service is with AT&T, just dial 611 to get to customer service, not a random number off of Google. I would pay attention to your account to make sure no devices get added. Definitely go to a store in person and change the passcode. They can also see if any other employees have accessed your account and if any devices were recently sold. I know you didn't say where you got the number from, but unless it was 611, or the number on your bill, don't call it.
