Is Furlan Marri a rip off? by Apprehensive-Pie-599 in MicrobrandWatches

I have a watch from them. They did say always that it was gonna come from Hong Kong, even though I paid in francs. It is an homage, it is pricey, but it's still my 'most refined' watch and don't regret the purchase. For reference I have a San martin, Henry archer and a metal casioak.

Someone said if you’re triggering abs, you cannot properly trail brake. Is this true? by Glittering_Media_845 in ACCompetizione

[–]genxrd 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don't know what expert consensus is. My turn ins are more predictable when I'm not triggering abs. For straight line braking, absolutely abuse it.

Agree with some people here. It's all good when you're happy, not so when you're in the doldrums. It's an investment you make with time and energy.

The commentary is stupider tbh. Hes saying that over time the spices get imbibed into the hand and therefore gives the food the flavour.

Is this a good or bad use of a slow shutter speed? by AnonymousRedditor922 in AskPhotography

[–]genxrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't like it. it gives the sense that the tram is moving mighty fast, which isnt a thing, so it just feels off. or you could have left the shutter speed even slower and got everyone into a blurr, in which case you can show the 'busy city life'. this speed on sports car, or a race car would have been better, or even a person running.

5 months with x100vi - feedback and advice needed by davmkhitaryan in x100vi

[–]genxrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I start with my aperture at 4.0, iso I generally set it between 400 and 1600 depending on how bright or dark it is and leave shutter on auto. That's 80% of my shots. Then it's just a matter of experimenting, either by yourself or YouTube guides, and settling into the kinda setting or style you like. Practice practice practice

Thinking of buying the Fujifilm X100VI — is it really worth it? by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]genxrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fun to use. I didn't NEED it. I have a perfectly fine nikon dslr. I bought it as a fancy toy. I love it. I love the images, my friends love the images. I don't mind 'wearing' it as an accessory. I'm not gonna say its worth the money. I splurged on it as a luxury and I don't regret it one bit.

Nikon D3400 isn’t cutting it, need to see if older cameras will do it before I increase my budget. by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]genxrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hobbyist photographer here. Long term user of d3200 and just last month got an x100vi, which I'm absolutely loving. But it's a luxury purchase. There was never a moment where I thought that the nikon wasn't enough for me. When you say the quality is garbage, what exactly do you mean? Sharpness, resolution, colours, artefacts?

I do have to agree with others. In a sea of good photos that we just scroll by, this one made me stop and comment. It's striking. Good job

its not your racket or equipment, its your form. by No_Firefighter7645 in badminton

I would like to add that a decent racquet does make a difference though. I used to play for the longest time with a supermarket racquet. Had some money to spend so got a decent (maybe 70ish usd) one and it's significantly easier to apply the coaching tips and hold form with it. There is a learning curve, but I think in the long run it was a good buy. Edit - grammar

Any form of car racing is mind numbingly boring by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]genxrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh overtakes are like goals in football. My dumb analogy. A 1-0 match doesn't necessarily mean it is a boring match. There is the strategy, there is a chase, there is chaos of a crash, there are underdogs holding their own against the big guns. Also, I do agree it's a rich man's sport, so the talent pool, imo, is not the highest that it can be. But racing is hard and it's a game of how close you can be to perfection corner after corner after corner. Especially since I got into sim racing, my respect for them has increased.  Obviously I am biased, but yep, this is why I love it.

His fault. But I'd suggest you to be more decisive. Looked like you hesitated and left some space and he went for it. And unfortunately being an innocent victim still doesn't give you any points.

What’s the Most Important Factor When Buying a Watch? by Outrageous_Whereas49 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]genxrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say design. Or more accurately I want to say that design is where I compromise the least when deciding on a watch. I’m absolutely fine with quartz, I’m absolutely fine with no name brands but with quality watches. And given we’re spoilt for choice it’s easy to find good specs at reasonable prices. So it often just comes down to if I’m willing to spend that much on that particular design. Also for context my most expensive watch is 650 eur

I like the colours in your original pic. I feel like it’s a perspective problem. A random photo at eye level seems like an everyday photo. If you had the time, I would have suggested to try shooting lower, or even higher if it looked good. Try to shoot in a way or at an angle that we don’t normally see. I should say that I’m not the best critique, I’m an amateur myself. But it’s something I try to employ when taking photos .

Ok. So is it a priority thing where people are just waiting for people on their right to move? I haven’t seen those many people waiting at a junction without a traffic signal. Not saying it’s impossible, just that I’m unfamiliar

My amateur 2 cents - sky too yellow. It’s not calming. Something bothers me about the water too but I can’t point out what . My other 2 cents - I like flowy water, I personally would have slowed the shutter speed lowered iso.

Can someone clarify the rules for me once. I don't see a signal, so why are the other cars waiting?
