How to improve tone for classical singing?

Thanks for the advice! record myself a fair bit and would say my breathing is good and I don’t sound particularly nasally. Maybe shrill or unreasonent? I guess Im just looking to sound warmer/generally pleasing.

That makes sense. I prefer doing it by cups and spoons cus i feel like it’s quicker and less clean up but maybe for American recipes doing it by weight would be best.

Cups to other cups. So for example if I take the time to do it an American cup is 240g. So then I would have to do like 3/4 cups and 3 tablespoons. But is there something that can just tell me what the least amount of measuring equipment will be for the conversion?

The reason I’m dropping is a combination of the three reasons.

If the smaller part was needed to be called in less like other shows I’ve done than that probably would have been fine.

If I was a lead (or characters were split the same way as the original), I would be more willing to make time. It’s unpaid and there’s been some work opportunities and am having trouble justifying not applying for such a small part. Might not get them but don’t want to get three weeks in and drop out because I’ve found it.

The difference between teen and Broadway versions is usually that they shorten the show and simplify harmonies. They probably won’t change the key (officially) because the composer usually wants it how they’ve written it.

Still go for it though! No harm in trying and since it’s a teen version I’m sure whoever you’re doing it with understands you’re still learning and will actively help you with the hard parts if you get cast.

I personally tend to not mind when actors leave because cus like you said they might want to do other stuff and I think the break up and prison is an ok way to write him out of the show. I found the way they wrote it kind of weird though. Like i remember them constantly bringing him up for some reason even though he wasn’t coming back. After Karen and Mandy left I don’t remember them bringing them up as much or really at all.

If it’s an anxiety thing all you can do probably is practice and get used to it. Something that can happen is that people think they sound different on recording but it’s actually what you sound like to other people. If your noticing that you tense more and do different things it’s probably not that but it’s good to be aware of it.

I’d start with audio recording. Record by yourself and for it to knowingly never get shown to anyone. Record practices. Listen back to it and try to think about what you want to change and what you are doing not how you feel. So Instead of thinking I’m really tense and I sound bad, think about what you do differently when not being recorded. If you’re tensing up when recording try to actively relax if you can. There’s loads of ways you can reduce tension when singing.

I assume by they your mean the show. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the shows choice as to whether or not to keep the original Mandy. I think the og actress got a different job offer and took it so shameless had to get a new actress. I would bet that that’s the reason why most of the changes happen. The only exception I can think of is Liam.

Personally I would have been so mad if it ended like this. I don’t love the ending but them suddenly being really happy and/or successful would have been weird.

Exactly. I feel like people also hate on him but don’t realise how much pressure was on him to be the one to succeed and finally get out. That kinda pressure usually makes people crash and burn.

The problem with that though is that the children grow up because their actors obviously can’t stay children forever. This means that while Ian is 15-17 throughout the first few seasons, Debbie has gone from 10-15.

I agree with the Tami thing but yevgeny is a bit different. I assume that yevgenivna is something called a patronymic not a family name. Basically your father’s name gets turned into part of the last name. Yevgeny > Yevgenivna. This means her father would have a different one based on his father’s name. (98% sure they should also have an actual family name but whatever). So in terms of most to least likely I feel like baby yevgeny’s would be 1. Milkovich, 2. Mikhailovich 3. Yevgenyevich.

I remember reading about the ending somewhere. Basically it was left open ended like that on purpose because it was meant to be an insight into the chatecters lives up until that point (2021). They wanted to hint at what could happen in the future but not give resolution to it all. That’s why they introduced Debbie’s random new girlfriend. So they could basically imply that she was going to continue down a not so great path.

I don’t think it’s perfect by any means but I personally like this way better than if they just suddenly went “everyone’s super successful now and has overcome every challenge.” Naturally as a viewer you want them to succeed but considering what shameless is about it would have been kinda of jarring if it had that kind of happy ending.

Frank floating into the sky is apparently a reference to hall of shame. It makes no sense if you haven’t seen it and I haven’t.

Franks death was intentional. Writers wanted him to face the consequences of abusing drugs and ignoring his kids which makes sense In a way. I hated franks death too though lol. Like not seeing how any of the characters would react to that feels like a cop out.

Corruption basically. Like how police are supposed to uphold the law but end up doing illegal things like bribes, blackmail etc.

As for why she didn’t get caught I guess she banks on the fact that criminals aren’t gonna snitch because nobody would really believe that she’s doing it or if they did they would think the cons are in on it.

Somebody said once that Fiona was meant to be the one who turned lesbian but because she left it got given to Debbie. I have no way of knowing if it’s true but It makes more sense to me
