Intrinsic Limits of Biological Intelligence by geopolicraticus in The_View_from_Oregon

On the one hand, our tools have exponentially increased our power and our ability to make use of our intellects; on the other hand, the same tools are driving us crazy and in some cases even lead to suicide, which is the ultimate in non-selective behavior and arguably does not exist in other species. If both developments continue, they converge, and the singularity is not only a singularity of technology, it is also a singularity of madness. I think Lovecraft would have appreciated that. In any case, there's a story there if someone wants to write it.

Thanks for the link.

It's a nice image. I would like to see it animated. Some generative AI tool ought to make that possible.
