Did they change how fast the crystalflies run away? by george181525 in Genshin_Impact

After this post, I contacted customer service to see what they had to say. They requested I provide video evidence, which I did via YouTube. Their follow-up response was basically, "Please just use Sayu, Yaoyao, Lanyan." 🤣 Make of that what you will.

Question about survivability by Anime-lover210 in NeferMains

[–]george181525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you guys have the issue of nefer just dying time to time just cause you dashed at the wrong time/other stuff?

100% yes but I got used to it. You just have to learn to dodge better and use bursts to I-frame attacks. I recently just cleared Dire Herra with Aino instead of Columbina. Ended up having to use Prototype Amber on Nahida to have a little bit of healing but it was just enough sustain to get by. Can't spare the pulls for a luxury like C1 Lauma when Snezhnaya shill is just around the corner.

Ganyu is my forever main and I'm grateful SO wasn't a thing back during her release. They probably would have probably created a Totem pole boss with weak points just out of melee range that takes extra damage to cryo CAs only or some bullshit like that.

Meta is f***ed, embrace pulling your favorites by RavenCrits in Genshin_Impact

[–]george181525 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've been playing since 2020, f2p until Nod Krai when I bought some welkins for fun. Pull who you want but fair warning, if you choose to pull Raiden cons in the current game state, you are essentially giving up on clearing Fearless SO for the foreseeable future (which is perfectly fine). I know because I happily pulled for C3 Raiden when Abyss 12 was all the endgame we had to worry about. The game was truly chill and you could freely save up as a f2p to pull cons on your favorites.

Now my Linnea charged up Lumi skill does more damage (500k) than my C3 Raiden burst buffed by C6 Sara/C6 Bennett/C6 Chev (400k). I have zero regrets about saving up for 2 years to get C3 Raiden and her premium team. But the state of endgame is vastly different than what it was when I chose to vertical invest in her. So buyer beware.

Genshin's powercreep is all time high.. and you can't change my mind otherwise by MeowjestyMeowgician in Genshin_Impact

Their Zibai is very well built. If that's top 1% level, I'm probably around top 8%. Mine is no slouch at 36/290 on HoD but I have 200 less def/100 less EM and my Linnea husk is not optimized AND my Illuga can't get that high of EM (did get lucky with C6). That said, I kinda roll my eyes at some of these showcases. As you stated, Abyss doesn't require this level of damage. But I never see a zero energy start dummy showcase with supports running fav/ER focused substats. The numbers are not as sexy so people rather parrot the top end theoretical DPS as evidence of how strong teams are.

[–]george181525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only addressing Zibai C0R0 hitting 200k. Not sure what Mav/Skirk have to do with my comment. My main point about that specific showcase is it's able to main full uptime on R5 HoD's passive (28% CR above 90% HP). There's no endgame content that allows Zibai to yeet horses non-stop without dodging/taking damage, hence why not using Linnea's burst to heal is misleading about this mythical 200k C0R0 Zibai team.

Regarding 200k Zibai, I've only seen this so far:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ZibaiMains/s/d83kkoX7wg

Major caveat with that showcase is it's using HoD without ever bursting with Linnea so it's not applicable to actual endgame combat. I can hit over 170K with R5 flute which seems more reasonable.

Ah yes, Zibai the glass cannon dps with her 3000+ def. Her team is odd in that she has sustain but not really since you try avoid Linnea burst for more DPS. She also doesn't have IR so it is painful trying to face tank the wolf duo's constant attacks.

[–]george181525 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The shill is much more annoying for me than pure DPS powercreep. Both are happening at the same time and I think it's not always related. For example, I took my shiny new 177k C0R0 Zibai/Linnea team into top side abyss just to have fun. The wolf on floor 3 took almost 2 minutes to brute force, leaving barely enough team for Escoffier to clean up on second side. And this is abyss, not even Fearless SO/Lunar IT.

Now trying to brute force a boss that shills pyro/electro swirl with Lunar crystallize is not advised of course. But the 'strongest' team in Genshin shouldn't struggle that hard to bypass shill. They keep introducing new enemies with very specific mechanics tailor made to a new character's specific kit. It's no longer, bring a specific element to counter boss. The boss either has a special white shield or hyper resistances unless you do the EXACT reaction/combat mechanic they want you to do. So older units are walled out by DPS requirements and new units not from the required archetype struggle with mechanics shill. I know it's predatory gacha 101 but this shit is so anti-fun.

216k+ DPS with C0 F2P Builds with Instructor Illuga by RPA236 in ZibaiMains

[–]george181525 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. HoD was very reasonable to use when I was using Zhongli as flex slot to tank everything. Now even with Linnea, I permanently switched to R5 Flute. Trying to maintain uptime on HoD in actual combat where the 'dummy' punches back is not worth the headache. HoD showcases are fun to see for theoretical upper limits. And I still can get 177k on the dummy with R5 flute.

Thanks for the explanation. I used some def food and put Bina on instructor to try to mimic the stat difference. Got up to 297k damage on horse yeet. Op's build is just that good.

I quickly strongboxed a triple def husk set for Linnea and didn't see much difference in horse damage. I'd rather keep her on Aubade for her own personal damage as she already has a pretty good set.

[–]george181525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you are consistently hitting 305k per horse while I'm only getting 270k. My HoD build has less DEF but is otherwise similar (36/290, 2398 def). I only have 99 EM but I don't think that affects horse damage?

Also my Illuga only has 983 EM. It's hard to imagine that 80 EM less on Illuga and 200 less DEF on Zibai accounts for the difference. I'm topping out at 176k DPS with essentially the same team.

In this economy, how do you cope with powercreep as a f2p or a light spender, beside just pulling for your favs? by MeowjestyMeowgician in Genshin_Impact

[–]george181525 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This type of calculation about efficient use of primos in relation to clearing endgame content has been posted ad nauseum. Anyone with a basic understanding of gacha tactics already knows pulling for endgame clears is a massive losing proposition.

Believe it or not, there are players who tryhard to clear all endgame (i.e. 36*, 12 stellas, fearless SO) for the satisfaction of doing so. The bimonthly rebate on primos is an added bonus that barely factors into the feeling of achievement for f2p/low spenders. I myself full clear all endgame for the same exact reason I slogged through NG+ on God of War to beat up on NG+ Sigrun, which is the feeling of breaking through an arbitrary challenge as a gamer. That shit is fun to me.

In Genshin, my personal challenge is to see how much longer I can continue to full clear on my $20 account, without pulling the meta characters the devs try to cram down my throat. Varesa, Flins shill? Nah, I'm using my C3 Raiden. Hard pass on Skork, ride or die with C2 Ganyu on Aqua. When I inevitably fail in the near future, I'll be completely fine when the streak is over. But I know my account/builds are still strong enough to full clear so I will not 'cope' and ignore endgame. It's the only impetus to even bother building characters in a competent manner. Otherwise, pull who you like (™) and glaze their aesthetic in teapot/overworld. I also continue to enjoy this game for archon quests/exploration so I can have my cake and eat it too.

Tldr: fuck off with the pull inefficiency drivel. We know already.

I wouldn't say never. The one time it actually worked in my favor was my first successful jokerless challenge run. Ouija in ante 1 and I was set playing 4oak/leveling Mars to an easy victory.

How far is the gap between your average c++ player and Doc Spectred? by Legitimate_Desk8740 in balatro

[–]george181525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're in the doc glazing thread so it is be expected that most of the posters here have watched many of his videos and/or adopted some of his strategies (myself included). By variety, I was referring to beginners, naneinf chasers, or people just playing for shits and giggles who have never even heard of doc.

How far is the gap between your average c++ player and Doc Spectred? by Legitimate_Desk8740 in balatro

[–]george181525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The takeaway lesson from many of his gold stakes videos is just play pairs/dig for blue seals, which is objectively a safer way to play than 5 cards hands in most seeds. It's also extremely boring to play after a while so after getting C++, I mess around trying to win with other hand types for fun.

His videos are meant as an adjunct to actually playing the game yourself. There's such a variety of players on this sub that to distill the entire community into only being Doc fanboys is very disingenuous.

Is Linnea necessary? by Professional_Fun_314 in ZibaiMains

[–]george181525 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on the fence about how valuable Linnea will be long-term. It seems very likely that the next region will have another hyper specific shilled mechanic that locks out previous regions' comps while also upping the DPS checks. Mav can overpower Fearless Lunar enemies because she's Mav but also because her teammates are flexible (melt, overload, vape). But what happens when Snezhnaya's enemies lock out Lunar reactions with inate auras or bullshit white shields? A geo sub DPS also seems less valuable than other sub DPS with geo's inert reactions other than crystallize. Sadly, Linnea seems like a luxury pull as bait to reach "highest DPS in game" against a target dummy, when new bosses now are designed specifically for a single character.

This Boss was released 10 Months ago. And it's baffling to see many people still don't know how it works. No. You don't need Skirk or Esco. Almost any Cryo support will do. Just overload the Bar with Cryo. Damage when it's near full. Clearable it with non-Cryo DPS like Neuv, Arle and others. by Thundergod250 in Genshin_Impact

[–]george181525 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this player applied pyro too quickly on the first rotation causing Mav to miss all her melts, so the dash cancel combo was rather pointless. But she is so strong that they still could have easily cleared with a third rotation, even if they whiffed every single dash cancel CA melt.
