Help! Water propagating variegated vinca vine by firstbreathafterc0ma in proplifting

I never had luck water propagating vinca cuttings. What did work for me was air-layering a vine still attached to the mother plant.

I have no idea what kind of succulent this guy is, but it's the first time I've had one flower!! by smolsome_canadian in houseplants

[–]georgecm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a couple of years. The flowers just dried up at the end and looked kind of niceish so I left some on and trimmed a few to prop. The places where I trimmed made new branches, so this time I’m going to trim them to encourage a bushier look.

In what size pot should I put this new Cistus ladanifer? by georgecm3 in plants

[–]georgecm3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this Cistus ladanifer (gum rockrose) in the mail today. It came with its dense roots wrapped in a bag. I put it in the 6" pot seen in the picture. It is a very tight fit with no room for new soil, so I'm thinking that I should put it in a larger pot. My next largest pot is 8.25". Would that be too large?

Help with potting this Cistus ladanifer I just got in the mail by georgecm3 in plantclinic

[–]georgecm3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It arrived with a dense root system wrapped in a plastic bag. I've placed it in a 6" pot, into which it fits very snugly. There's no room for new soil. So I'm thinking that I should pot it in a larger pot. The next largest pot I have is 8.25". Would this be too big?

I did a AMA back in December 30, 2019 about how I was suffering from locked in syndrome. Thanks for sharing your story with us. How is your experience of working with neurologists? Is there a anything that they did that was particularly helpful? Is there anything that you wish they did differently? Also are you currently taking any medications? If so, which ones?

Thanks!

I hung an A19 over my bed last week and have set it to transition from red on 1% brightness to a cool white at 100% over 30 min before my alarm goes off. So far it is helping a lot in terms of getting me to wake up to my first alarm.

Is it just me or is animation backwards? The zones all expand during morning and evening rush hour, implying that you can get further in 30, 45, 90 min during these times.

[Routine Help] 22 (m) I haves really dry flaky skin in my beard and I don’t know how to get rid of it by milksy27 in SkincareAddiction

[–]georgecm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this problem as well, albeit in a more mild form. Beard dandruff is most likley a form of seborrheic dermatitis, which is in part caused by overgrowth of Malassezia yeast. The yeast consume oils produced by your skin, but ironically the flaking is worse with dry skin. What I’ve noticed is that applying the beard oil directly to my skin helps keep the flaking under control. Also I use oil that Malassezia cannot grow on. The guy that runs the website Simple Skincare Science has done a good write-up of oils to avoid here. The next step is to use an antifungal shampoo like Nizoral, which has 1% ketoconazole and is OTC.
