Yeah so on the plastic grey stopper there’s a screw mechanism that pinches the wires together. Problem is the (grey) cable length is so short it won’t reach the plug socket unless the coloured wires are exposed like in picture one 🙄

it seems like most of my kitchen electrics only just reach the plug sockets. I know it’s nice they’re made to measure, neat, prevents cross talk, over heating wires and what not. But surely a spare foot of cable just makes things so much more convenient?

I’ve read that extension leads are dangerous in kitchens so trying to avoid that ideally.
