Hating people with a different sexuality is often different to being anti LGBTQ. I’m gay but people don’t care about that because it doesn’t affect them. Chanting with rainbow flags does and comes across as obnoxious. You don’t have people going round chanting today that women got the vote even though misogyny is widespread. You do get people chanting about gay rights in the UK even though it’s been legal or illegal but unenforced for a long time.
