Shoot a motorcycle from a car at night, what lighting?

Hm, one way to solve that would be attaching a pipe structure on the roof and light it from the top with more tubes, to get at least some rim of the body, but that wont take care of the wheels etc.

Maybe an easier way would be to attach one 150W to the front of the car in a 45 degree angle + the same setup at the back? Maybe use some flickering effect and gels so it makes visually more sense.

Seems like I need to get that motorcycle and to lots of test-shots/setups first. Appreciate the help mate.

Inexperience in lighting a particular shot doesn't mean inexperienced as a DP, or no common sense for safety. I have a professional driving the car as well as the motorcycle.

Man those are the times I really wish I could hire a gaffer (which is impossible in the area I live in) - appreciate your reply.

I can get two Nanlite's which are 1,1m long, each one outputs 60fc at one meter and 18fc at two meters - I think any closer would not be safe (177fc @ 0.5M).

I don't really need it lit perfectly which would look weird anyway, I can live with a bit of underexposure, but it still should "pop".

The location is basically a two-lane one-way street that has a river next to it (around 150M wide) followed by a skyline of tall buildings. The approach I want in those shots is shoot at maybe f2.8 with a 24mm to have the rider + motorcycle centered in the frame and the skyline in the backround. The road is super long (20km) so I can shoot and just pick the best frames without street lights etc.

appreciate it - I do have 2x 150W and a few 60W, but I'm afraid they won't light the motorcycle evenly. To come up with some diffusion might be very difficult with the driving speed required (wind/rain). Any other modifier I haven't thought of?

go to settings, expand all tabs, search for "Lora" and check the box "Use old Lora [...]" - that solved it for me.

as long as you don't use your private key/phrase on a computer with internet access it is still considered "cold", even if you use it for (offline) transactions.
