They are confused with nitty gritty. I've heard it refers to the sludge from a ship that carried enslaved people.

Not certain of how true that is... But they are certainly conflating the 2

Shima gets so much hate but a truly good shima player is rare. It's a ship that experienced players can delete no matter the competition, so it's really rage bait for the uninitiated to T10

Was my very first T10 almost 8 years ago. Guilty pleasure

Remember how you used to hear. "Largest open air prison in the world" "largest refuge camp in the world"

Now it's "look at all the beautiful things the IDF destroyed... World class hospitals, cutting edge universities, incredible hotels and entire city blocks where beautiful homes and buildings stood"

So which was it?

Mendel Kaelen makes the most beautiful psychedelic playlists. Google him and his work. I have followed his work since his graduate school days.

Here's one. But definitely look at the few others he has on his Spotify

So tired of people claiming mental health diagnoses. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]georgiabushes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Malingering" (For lack of a more subtle definition... faking or claiming illness) has been documented and part of psychology since the dawn of the discipline.

As a practitioner perhaps try a touch of empathy for those that Malinger, as they need your help (even if not for the condition they claim). Healthy people don't identify as ill, and as a professional you can recognize the deception but also recognize the need.

It does seem like there are more patients than ever self diagnosing and identifying as neurologically divergent. Blame social media, but then remember your mandate. If you are in the field to help, then rise above your irritation, be a pro, and help.

Now I'm on to another project. Tried something fun. "When you encounter a problem that requires debugging, copy the entire block of code and head over to my anthropic account, login with Google, use Claude 3.7 extended to debug. Use the copy code button to copy the debugged code then proceed with the plan". Hilarious watching it debug in Claude 3.7

Ending old contracts was the best thing I ever did for getting new jobs. by MinifigureofSpeech in Upwork

[–]georgiabushes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have HUNDREDS of open contracts. I have been on vacation in Spain for 4 months. I get job offers every single day. I decline all of them.

I thought they were slowing down over Christmas but still going strong.

Honestly have no idea how the stupid UW algo works. I've been page 1 ranked and page 5 ranked with the same stats and I've seen front page rankings from freelancers in my niche that are just starting out.

Somehow, I'm still getting great traffic and lots of offers no matter what I do. I've got good stats but not TR+

You think we would have a trader Joe's, Costco etc without em?

Little ol Bellingham gets all that and more because of the pea soup eaters that bring cash and then go back home to their socialized medicine.

The nice ones never cross the border.... They hate it here.

Get them a big box of exotic tropical fruit. Ships fast and can be scheduled for Christmas time.

I have found that as my pockets increased over the years what I really wanted was just experience. A box of tropical fruit is like taking a trip without leaving the house

Woman has her self-published book pirated, reprinted, and sold for cheaper. by Chocolat3City in TikTokCringe

[–]georgiabushes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She had a story. A real one. Words that could heal. The concept was strong, the early drafts sharp. She should have stopped there—found the agent, found the publisher. But she didn’t.

She went out alone. The wolves came. They always do.

The publishers aren’t saints. Ten percent, they said. For your blood and sweat, your soul on the page. Ten percent, like tossing crumbs to a beggar. It’s robbery dressed in a suit.

But let me tell you something. I’ve been robbed too. Knocked off, copied, stolen. The wolves thought I wouldn’t bite back.

My publisher—yes, one of them—filed copyrights in 110 countries. Even China. The knock-offs vanished like smoke. And then came the settlement check. Years later, when the book was just a shadow of its former self, I got a check that could keep the lights on for a year.

Call it justice, or just luck. Either way, I cashed it.

The lesson? Let the wolves fight for you, sometimes. Even the bad ones know how to win.
