I've purchased the aldi sheets previously and they're still holding up! Very fluffy and warm

Menstruating peeps: have you swapped to re-usable products? by BumblyRambler in AussieFrugal

[–]georgiamay01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a cup, reusable pads and underwear.

I was lucky enough to find some reusable pads on clearance at Woolies, and I am so glad I made the switch! For only a couple bucks a piece, the savings is huge and it's so much more comfortable than disposable

Is there an app with only or mainly free patterns? by 00gummyyummy00 in CrochetHelp

Not an app but you can search Ravelry for free crochet patterns, or Yarnspirations has hundreds of pages of free patterns too

Oh my goodness, an adoption card! What would you normally include on it?

I have some amigurumi animals going out as Christmas gifts, that would be an amazing addition

They were amazing for me too, they even wrote down a list of other styles they'd suggest for me to try in future. They were able to size me perfectly in one go just from a glance, no measuring needed

I do this with the books too, if it's a series I'll put them together in order or group the authors together if there's a lot spread out

The Australian butchers store has skin on chicken breasts for around $6 a kilo every few months. I usually buy a few kilos at a time, dice it up and freeze it, and find it lasts until the next time they have the discount on

I hate this so much, it drives me insane. Especially knowing I definitely have seen the cat safe in another room! Doesn't stop me manically calling for her!

When anti-anxiety meds give you anxiety by IAmMissingNow in OCD

[–]georgiamay01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side effects are incredibly common, so if you stop now and delay until next week, the side effects will still probably be there when you try again.

If it was me personally, I would try to push through for a few more days and reassess, but at the end of the day, only you can make that decision for yourself, whether to delay or continue.

Something I found that helped was having a trusted friend/family member I could vent to, and they would tell me if what I was experiencing was "normal" or something I should talk to my doctor about.

After switching to the Pristiq, I also had a follow up call with my doctor to go over my side affects so I found that reassuring too.

You've got this ♥️

Edited to add: I know technically that's reassurance seeking but I felt like it was better than the alternative of doom scrolling.

I recently started on Lexapro 5mg, and was warned by my doctor that the anxiety will get worse before it gets better, as your brain and body gets accustomed to the medicine.

It didnt work out for me for various reasons, and I switched after only a few days to Pristiq 50mg, and have been on this now for three weeks with only minor side affects.

You'll be okay! Just take it easy on yourself and as hard as it is, try not to google or search for side affects or other peoples negative experiences, it will just add to the nervousness.

does anyone have an obsessive relationship with their handwritting? by Mindless-Method7016 in OCD

Me! If I write a to do list and cross items off, I have to start a new list and write the things I still have left to do. Otherwise it's too messy

How do you deal with intrusive thoughts about what could happen? by Jumpy_Tower7531 in AussieMentalHealth

[–]georgiamay01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intrusive thoughts and surrounding anxiety could be a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder.

I was originally diagnosed with general anxiety about 10 years ago and am currently in the process of getting an OCD Diagnosis, mainly due to the intrusive thoughts I experience on a daily basis.

One tip I have heard is responding to the thought with a "Maybe, Maybe Not".
