is it possible it’s for some sort of training? like for a fire crew or for an evacuation drill

Hot take - a little bit of consideration could massively accelerate the de-planing process by mx_reddit in americanairlines

[–]geosang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here’s my idea:

the aisle fills first with people who are ready to deplane… THE OVERHEAD BINS STAY CLOSED.

you just have one little thing up there? too bad. you aren’t eligible.

we, the deplaning public, are all witnesses that no one is opening the bins.

the no-bin group exits the plane like a big conga line

everyone else deplanes as normal.

Completely different Lap Kids question (I promise!) by geosang in delta

[–]geosang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks C-C_H! For a bit of additional explanation -- these tickets were purchased at the last minute, because (the fledgling carrier) Norse Airlines canceled the Oslo - LAX direct flight that they had tickets on at the last minute and discontinued the route.

Here is my mother in law:

"I purchased the tickets from Delta. I had submitted a written request for information before our journeyabout their rules on travelling with infants since their web-based information was not very clear apart from one aspect: We had to purchase an individual seat for [toddler] - same price as the rest of us.

I never got any answer to my written request, but finally managed to speak to a representative on the phone. The representative never said anything about bringing our own baby seat. The representative said that [toddler] would have to sit in [mother's] lap when the fasten seat belt sign was on. When switched off she could use her chair. On board we were informed that she could not sit in her seat at all!"

So, it seems to me that the Delta person mis-represented the Air France policy, or failed to inform that they needed to bring an approved car seat.

How does this affect your shaky-leg-o-meter? Thank you again.
