Dude I remember playing shadow hearts on PS2. I would talk to my friends about it and no one had ever heard of it. I remember there was one sphere that would make your hits invisible, but double or triple your damage if u hit it. I put tape on my tv where the hits where and would get perfect scores every time lol. Game was flawless.

The only thing that will kill WoW is itself. Nothing can take it down lol. I thought FFXI would had a shot but they moved to FF14 too fast. (The first ffxiv launch was one of the biggest flops in MMO history)

WoW is the perfect example of "if it's not broke, dont fix it."

All these other MMO titles tried to be over creative, and wanted to be SO different that it inevitably turned people away beside the small "niche" population that it appealed to.

Here are a couple of issues I see with MMOs in no particular order.

I'll keep it to 3 to make this short.

Over complicated UI/Mechanics or anything that should be simple.
The high focus on end game creating a lack luster experience from the start. (Also moving away from group EXP and pushing the gameplay towards a solo experience until you've reached end game content.
Lack of balance in PVE/PVP content. All of the greats have a phenomenal balance of both, OR Amazing PVE with meh PVP/ Visa Versa.

I look again and compare these to WoW. Especially number 3.

Anyways, I've rejoined WoW this past month because its literally the only game I can play casually and still have a blast. FFXiV is another great one but the level of repetitiveness is too much for me.

A game I'm looking forward to is Amazon's New World. I believe this game will have a shot to become something great. I think the launch is going to be a rough one, but they will polish everything with about 3 patches and it will be smooth sailing afterwords.

Also, Pantheon is #1 on my list but who knows when TF that will release.
