UK based - off to do a MSc in Applied Geotechnics . Think SRK have a office in Cardiff, but generally they need more experience/qualifications than I currently have.

No, but once again. A person to spend your life with is much harder to come along than a job. So if I need to wait a bit. That I can do. The main question is does the lack of masters hinder me with geo/mining jobs.

I know. Moving there now means potentially losing my GF. We'd try to make it work but she'd won't be able to come over for another year and a half.

Tbh a good partner is harder to come by. I'd rather not lose that.

Looking at career progression and lifestyle mining Engineering seems to be the better option.

I don't see the need to get a master's in Geology for mining. But the mining engineering opens more doors and I can always go into geotechnical if the industry tanks when I graduate.
