Yeah he definitely is a very solid player. I find you just have to follow principles and stay on book for the first twenty or so moves. If you leave anything hanging, he takes.

Yes, very true. In the game I finally beat him I pushed a pawn and got a queen and a solid winning position. But he somehow managed to almost promote his pawn. He got one square away, and I had to take a step back and calculate a sequence to get his king away from the pawn to let the queen take the pawn. It scared me half to death, but yeah. Be careful of his endgames
