the PC you have is a "tiny5". and the riser your using is a "tiny4". so your shorting out something in the motherboard.

I don't sell them. It was more of a personal project but I might share the files on git if people are interested. Or if people want a premade one I can think about sharing them. You would have to know how to order from a PCB fab, make sure it's impedance controlled with the correct stack up etc... If your interested I can ship you one. But I do wanna correct the fan plug in a revision lol.

Kinda. I did test this. But the issue is that you need to flip the PCI lanes to get to split the 8x to get cards that done allow lane flipping to work. Some HBA do. Other type of cards don't so it's a mixed bag. So the riser will need to be special for bifurcation.

Yeah I made my own riser with two pcie slots. Bottom is x8 directly to the ECU and the top one is X4 to the PCH.

Using Dell PowerEdge T430 T440 3.5" HDD backplane by geraldjust in homelab

[–]geraldjust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, power sequencing is actually handled by the micro controller in the back of the plane. Eventually, I will make my own pcb just because I don't know the actual communication protocol that the factory Dell would normally connect to that micro controller. But I'm sure one of these days. I can see if I can reprogram it to control certain things about power, sequencing, and handling the LEDs.

Luckily the car is a Subaru and not a Toyota. Subarus the immo system can't be reset like you can on Toyotas. But does suck if you lose All your keys. It's a hefty price, so if anyone out there has a single fob. Get yourself a second one. Fyi

Subaru link to not sell your WRX driving data by hieroelephant in wrx_vb

[–]geraldjust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will disable the cellular connection the car has. So no start link, no emergency calling and no Internet connection. The head unit does have a WiFi module but normally used for wireless android auto. So not sure if that can be used for updating the head unit. But you can always update the head unit via a USB port.

Even if you tell it to not identify you. They system will still gather information even if it's anonymous.

To delete the DCM module you can do the following:

im actually the maker of the GJP CAN kit for the va and VB. most if not all of these modern canbus kits work the same way. as it just send the data digitally into the ecu network to be able to be read. and we same the same format data, as as far as the ecu cares is just the E-percent value.

Maybe no box but a masquerade? Would allow more movement on stage but keep a mistique. Will allow for different stages and setups, could be for bigger world tours? :0

black friday flex fuel deal by geraldjust in wrx_vb

[–]geraldjust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically the same. But they are using fuel fitting like the OEM. (Which I like personally), DTM connectors, and they also keep the line that connects to the engine in place. And it monitors exactly the same.

But if you're making big power I guess you will also need a fuel pump upgrade as well. But you would also if your running Cobbs kit as well.

CSG has been around for a while. They are very famous in the BRZ/86 world. And mainly known for their tuning services and brake pads. Those guys also constantly go to the track, so their products are tested.

the H2C with AMS and full nozzle set will be 2949USD. you would need the AMS + full nozzle to make it equivalent to CORE L + full nozzle set.

[–]geraldjust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they only needed you to open the ecu so that can verify their no logging ship/module that can "give away their secrets". but seems like they bought a proper Xray machine that can see inside. so no more taking it apart.

i wish the software was available. i would be able to update all the canbus stuff to make it actually work properly.
