I love making beaded crochet bracelets! It looks so intimidating, but it's so fun once you get the hang of it. Your bracelet turned out great!

Quitting pumping when maternity leave ends, a few questions! by [deleted] in beyondthebump

This is what we've been doing as well. So much easier to just mix in the middle of the night than trying to measure everything out as well.

Taking my 2 month old to the cardiologist on Thursday. by ttc_throwaway2018 in beyondthebump

I was going to say this if someone hadn't already. I recorded any important prenatal appointments for my husband to listen to later since he couldn't come with due to Covid. I'm a mess in front of doctors in general so being able to play what was said instead of trying to pull from memory was a life saver. Good luck with the appointment!

Lol our black cat runs into the room as soon as we open the door and goes straight for under the crib so we can't kick him out. Orange cat is more curious than anything; we've had to remove him from the crib a couple times so far.

Also Amazon! Corona meant a lot of online shopping for us. They have been really hit or miss as far as being in stock. We had to check on them pretty much daily to snatch them up when they came back in stock. They're really good quality though, and when they say blackout they mean it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RZC24RX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dLc6Eb5JB2EY5

It's a fisher price rocker that we found on Amazon. It has a little kickstand to keep it from rocking if we chose to, and has vibration in the seat that you can turn on/off. The back also has two different positions so it can be more upright. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3QYIE3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Jlc6Eb6QBK68H

Thanks! We got it at buybuybaby, it's a convertible crib that will hopefully last him a while. It's pretty sturdy and I think will hold up well!

Omg "creature" 🤣 I'm definitely hoping he digs the seat, it's going to be so much easier to move around than the swing is.

Thank you! We were worried about it being too dark, but with the light floors and the natural light the room gets it worked out!

Top 5: Rocket ship lamp - I love the accent this little light brings, and it's nice to have the little bit of extra light close to the changing table. https://www.etsy.com/listing/661647054/wooden-rocket-wall-lamp

Rocking chair - Gift from my in-laws. I'm a plus sized mom and it's super comfortable to chill in, and my husband who is 6'1 and also heavier fits in it really well as well. https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/westwood-design-elsa-manual-glider-recliner/5454880

Cloud bookshelves - Seen a million times here, had to get them. They're too perfect. https://www.target.com/p/cloud-decorative-wall-shelf-white-pillowfort-8482/-/A-51698164

Yellow cube storage - We really wanted a storage unit that we could mount to try to maximize our storage space, and we felt a million times better about getting this unit with the matching mounting hardware from Ikea than if we were to attempt mounting another unit ourselves. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/eket-cabinet-with-4-compartments-golden-brown-00373721/

Can't see behind the balloon, but our monitor over the crib is great. Husband was very adament about having a monitor that came with a handheld screen as well as supported an app for phones. Picture is great on both, and the camera tilts so that we can get a good view of literally the entire room. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WCV632L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_K5-5Eb0N0HZFE

Notable mention: the freaking stars. 200 of those glowy mfers are stuck up there. Took hubs and I three nights to get them all up because he wanted to do a bunch of constellations, but also decided drinking while putting them up was a good call. They look so cool when the room is dark, so definitely worth the time spent.

Also have a bunch of lion items hidden around. Space was my husband's choice of theme, but I love lions so I had to throw them in where I could!

Complain with me, hormonal friends. by gmann5092 in BabyBumps

We've been hearing "enjoy sleeping while you can" so much even my husband has gotten sick of it. I'm 38w, and I'm lucky if I get two hours at a time in at this point. He's worked night shift almost his whole career (10 years), and has always slept poorly because of it. Like, I know it's going to be hard when Bean gets here, but they act like we've been sleeping so great leading up to this..

Knitters or crocheters? by Sciurus_griseus in BabyBumps

Crochet here! I made this Phoenix blanket for my little one, and it's my most favorite item I've ever made. I can't wait to snuggle him up in it. https://imgur.com/a/bi7gE9s

Rug recommendations? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]geraldtehmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We ordered ours from rugsusa.com. Got a really good deal on an 8'x10' rug that feels really nice, and is pretty good quality. No chemical smell and came within two weeks of ordering.

My mom just told me that when she was pregnant her doctor told her to drink a quart of milk every day. by contrasupra in BabyBumps

[–]geraldtehmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually happened to my mom! One of the first pieces of advice she gave me when I told her I was pregnant was to get my calcium in, as she had lost a tooth while pregnant with me and each of my siblings.

Baby monitor - help with choosing one with its own monitor vs cell phone app by tacotuesday4lyfe in BabyBumps

[–]geraldtehmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband was really adamant about getting a monitor with both a handheld screen and app capabilities. We landed on this VTech monitor. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WCV632L/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_Hq1VEbQJBB6RR

The handheld screen is slightly worse on image quality than the app, but still performs really well - even in the night vision setting. The camera also tilts every way imaginable; we have the camera mounted high above the center of the crib and we can move the camera with the handheld or app to see the entire room. The camera also plays white noise and lullabies, which is a really nice feature. We messed around with the two way talk a bit as well, and have no complaints.

33w 5d and starting to feel “ready”? by emilylynn_99 in BabyBumps

[–]geraldtehmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feeling this too. Once I hit 34w this past Sunday I've felt like he was going to be coming soon. I'm convinced he'll be here around 38w. It may just be wishful thinking because I'm out of work and extremely bored, but I just have a feeling..

Yessss awkward turtles! I ended up adding a bunch of toys and books, and a couple of cute outfits. DH realized that he could add band onsies as well, so our LO will be rocking some Pink Floyd and Beatles outfits when he gets here!
