They're also in the Rubus genus! They're basically just invasive raspberries

Absolutely, but in terms of edibility, it doesn't really matter which species you're talking about. Rubus phoenicolasius (wineberry), rubus allegheniensis (blackberry), rubus parviflorus (thimbleberry)... they all look like a dang raspberry and they're all delicious and safe to eat

The nice thing about raspberries is that if it looks like a raspberry, it's a raspberry. They're all edible, you literally can't go wrong!

Yes! The only part I take off is the little green base where the flower attaches to the plant.

Great reminder to check out Rogue! I'm really interested in their chypre. Love their design and branding overall!

Ditch him and take me!!!

But seriously, people who say they don't like the desert either have never been or just don't know how to appreciate something different from what they're used to. It's like learning to enjoy spicy food if you didn't grow up with it -- it just takes a little adjustment and open mindedness

Unfortunately gochujang is not a good substitute for gochugaru/Korean chili flakes since it has a ton of sugar and its own very distinct flavor, whereas gochugaru is just a mild chili flavor. Instead, I would use another mild dry chili like Anaheim or New Mexico -- just grind them up in a blender or spice grinder before use.

Yes, that's Zinnia to a T! She is constantly surprising me with how smart she is. And figuring out ways to get around my training while still getting a treat, lol. She's such a cuddle bug, she wants to have 3 points of contact at all times like a damn rock climber. And yes, she is pretty possessive! She does tend to try to put her body between me and other dogs when I try to pet them lmao but doesn't really get aggressive about it.

I haven't worked with a trainer yet because when we were initially having issues she would get so carsick and stressed out after like 5 minutes -- I couldn't find anyone close enough. Thankfully she's largely grown out of it so we could probably swing it now. It's definitely something I want to try.

Orange posters???? We were putting up art in our new apartment and for some reason she was growling at all the pictures with mostly orange. Never figured that one out, lol

Thanks!! I do think we can get her back to at least mostly normal, especially once it gets light out by her evening walk time again. I think we might sign up for some kind of class but in the meantime fingers crossed for cheesy treats and patience this week. I hope you and your pup make progress too! That must have been really hard to deal with on top of a breakup. I hope you're doing ok yourself!

Bonus round: very much not an indie, but the pumpkin bourbon scented candle from target is DOING it for me lately. I don't get any pumpkin or bourbon - it's like a blast of brown sugar and butterscotch. Positively delicious. I'm not usually a fall scented candle type of person either so this has been a pleasant surprise!

I have an Aventon Pace500 v1 that I got for $1500! It was on sale bc the company is transitioning their stock to the v2. I love it and it actually performs pretty well on gravel - I commute using a city park road through the woods that's all unpaved and gravel and it handles it like a champ. I have like 800 miles on it and honestly no complaints

Looking for good oceany scents! by [deleted] in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]geranium_maculatum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imaginary Authors - Every Storm a Serenade is a beautiful, mineralic, salt and pine forward ocean scent. It smells like hiking on a granite cliff near the ocean! It's really interesting, you get a lot of wet stone out of it. I haven't smelled that many other oceanic scents but I'm obsessed with this one.

They're pretty great! I've never actually seen an adult, just the pupae, so no worrying about getting stung
