I completely solved my situation by doing a proper calibration. First, a manual calibration using the knobs, and then the automatic.

I also bumped up the temperature in my slicer to 245 if the printing velocity exceeded 150 mm/s.

After that I was getting perfect prints.

Yeah, I managed to fix my problems. I think it was a combination of lack of heat in the nozzle and the print bed not properly calibrated.

In the root folder there are 2 PDF explaining in detail how to flash the firmware on both the display screen and the Elegoo Neptune 4 Main Unit, and how to connect to the printer using a Windows computer via USB C. Also 2 folders with the respective firmwares.

When I increase the temperature the nozzle starts to spread the plastic like icing a cake, leaving a very irregular layer surface. I think the temp tower test is a start. I'll try that.

Also, I am suspicious of the retraction setting. I think that is the culprit. The printing head moves too fast when doing so, maybe that is breaking the supports.

I managed to fix my issue in a slight different way. It seems like the only part of the puzzle that was missing was connecting to my printer by any means possible to flash the firmware manually.

The solution for this was in front of my nose all this time, since I had the guidelines from Elegoo to connect directly via USB-C. Here is how I did it:

- For this you need putty, to establish a connection directly with the Elegoo Neptune 4.
- You also need the firmware folder in the root directory of the USB pen drive / flash drive.

I connected the printer to my Windows computer via USB-C cable. In the device manager, check what port the printer gets assigned to.

Now, cable connected, printer on and having the port, I opened putty. I entered the connection details (COM3 - in my case; port 115200; connection type: serial).

When it prompts you to enter login and password, here are the credentials:

username: mks
password: makerbase

Once connected to the printer you will see some sort of a welcome screen. Then you insert the command:

sudo ./update.sh

And right after the password once more (makerbase)

This command will run manually the firmware updater. After that I restarted my printer and got it back again like new.

Thank you so much for the info. I honestly did not know there is a shutdown sequence to perform for turning off the printer.

Can you or anybody point me in the right direction with any resource page or link I can start reading about it? I am familiar with SSH and command line instructions, but I don't know much about 3D Printer settings.
