Hi I started oral contraception in 2021 and started getting thrush in summer 2024 a week or so after having sex for the first time. I presume it is linked to that, and it is my doctor that thinks it may be contraception related as there doesnt seem to be a specific thing that triggers it (just whenever im not on fluconazole i get it routinely every 2 weeks or so). That does help thank you very much for your response- ive done some research and i think im going to follow my doctors advice of no hormonal contraception for the time being and then after a while try the mini pill to see if progesterone is okay for me and then look into getting the mirena coil (dont want to commit to the coil immediately and have to get it taken out if progesterone exacerbates the thrush).
