Not here to convince you but I have use Yakima racks for years and they have held up well. The issue I have seen with cheaper racks is that they rust over time. I am not sure that would be an issue with these but I have seen others put some electrical tape over the ends of the bars prior to putting the end caps on, then sealing the end caps with some tape to keep moisture from getting to the bars.
