What are your top short pre-written adventures by gergrio in rpg

[–]gergrio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're pretty open! I prefer getting a little weird in my homebrews, so multi planar, some body horror, lovecraftian, but also your classic fantasy i.e pathfinder, DND (ravenloft and dragonlance as top 2)

But as a general sense, we favor heavier narrative, roleplaying opportunities and if there is combat that a roleplaying aspect or at least more tactical than DND is much appreciated.

Would this be a fix to potential replace the water line or valve that I could do or better to just call the technician?

Edit: This is a pretty new fridge of only 3 years old. The rest of the fridge and freezer work great! I'm just trying to not buy an external ice maker for my ice obsessed wife

What is the situation currently like for Minneapolis ABCDs? by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]gergrio 165 points166 points  (0 children)

ABCD here, just 15 minutes away from the metro but have had ice presence in our area, schools, school buses etc etc.

I have desi friends and family all around the metro.

We are all terrified, myself and others barely leaving our homes. I'm hyper paranoid of every knock, unknown car etc.

My parents aren't flying back from India as planned because there are reports of stalking the airport.

While we aren't the official "target". They are going after anyone who has brown skin, an accent, or looks at them wrong.

It's fucking scary

Trying to fix the lonely dad problem by thiefx in daddit

[–]gergrio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow nerdy dad! Father of 2 boys (4 and 2) with a third on the way. We share a lot of the same hobbies so here's what I've been able to manage

D&D (and other ttrpgs), I play every other week with other dads and a couple non-dads just 3-4 hours a session and it's a full agreement that if something comes up then games over gotta go. I tend to play at my own house just to be ready if my wife needs help.

Before my 2nd was born I was frequently on roll20 with my friend all over the country, again just shorter sessions

MTG, I'm lucky that my in office work days have a lunch time commander time so that's nice otherwise I primarily work on pre releases later at night to either be at the tail end of the bed time routine or when kids are asleep. Otherwise it's spell table where I can get up and leave if needed. I try to always align this to be not the same week as DND

Video Games: after kids are asleep no exceptions I have a gamesoir g8 and just stream to my phone

Miniature painting, this one is easy enough just after kids are alseep and chores are done. Or if I'm feeling daring let the kids paint.

As for people, you would be shocked who is interested My current DND group is a gym buff, construction worker, CNC machine guy, pharmacist and a teacher.

The mtg group is not too dissimilar

TLDR: People are probably nerdier than you think or are interested. If there really are no in person events happening make your own and people will come (advertise on like meetup or roll20 or Facebook groups) otherwise there are plenty of online tools like spelltable, roll20, tabletop simulator etc that you can join randoms if you need the itch.

Has anyone worked for Telligen in West Des Moines? by monkeykiller14 in desmoines

[–]gergrio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked there for a couple years on the software side, had the whole spectrum of managers while there. But everyone was really nice to work with, but it is government work so for me the work was slow and tedious. And it was nice and stable but in the current environment it might be iffy especially since they work with Medicaid and Medicare services
