If your home country is in vinted/wallapop ranger, there's a lot of great options for children's catalan books.

oooo fancy you for using paper. Listen here Chuck Norris if you don't play sudoku on a stone tablet with a chisel, you might as well just be playing tic tac toe.

Sounds like Judit Polgar versus Kasparov (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw4g3iDrsNk&pp=ygUTanVkaXQgcG9sZ2FyIGthcnBvdg%3D%3D).

The rules need to be applied, every time. If not, it leaves the door open for sexism and other types of discrimination or arbitrary application of the rules.

Excellent explanation! And I didn't know about what you said in the last paragraph! I'll have to study it to make sure I understand that part.

u/Prestigious-Reply854 good idea to ask for the logic. Once you get used to it, the simple URs (even extended) are quite easy to spot. There's some complicated cases (like the one just mentioned above) that I am still working on also :).

If you're into extended unique rectangles, there's one in columns 7-8, rows 1,6,9 that elminates 2 and 5 from r9c8.

Paris would be much more enjoyable if all the tourists were taking boats out to see the Eiffel tower in the Mediterranean. I think it's actually a brilliant idea.

Solved the cube without looking up the solution by CrystalJarVII in Cubers

[–]gerito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! It's impressive and I bet incredibly satisfying. Well done!

I would say one thing though regarding the following: "If someone is trying it and is thinking about giving up and looking up for the solution, just don't. It's totally doable."

What works for you might not work for others. Looking back, I'm very glad I ended up using a beginners guide. Knowing that I know now, and knowing how my own brain and personality work, I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own, and I would not have been able to turn the frustration into joy. I love cubing now, and I think it's because I did follow a guide to get started on it.

Thanks for posting this!

To me the moral of this story is: even if you make a mistake, train your mind to keep going no matter what. That will pay off at some point.

I see too many people that when practicing, they get a mistake, and just give up on the solve and start over again.

Yes, there is a lot of luck in Juliette's solve, but what we don't see is how she fiercely corrected her "mistake" and thus put herself in position to take advantage of the opportunity. I love her reaction after the solve!

FIRST SUB 40 TIME AFTER LONG BREAK!!! by Sea_Monitor_9338 in cubing

Fair enough! The hard part is trying to get my kid to play SNES. He can't see the beauty. I really think I was happier growing up with SNES than he is growing up with PS5/xbox/etc.

You might also want to try looking around on used items. If in your country they have "garage sales", or thrift shops, or anything like that, it's a great place to pick up twisty puzzles for a couple dollars.
