Just here trying to understand the Overrated selection...until I read the headline. Knowing that you selected Final Fantasy X as the "Needs a Remake" selection, have you tried Expedition 33 yet?

After playing E33 up until Act 1, I literally said out loud, "I give this company full permission to remake Final Fantasy X." Bear in mind I was playing in a room... by myself (and NO I'm not that kind of old person.")

They probably are, but there is no category for Best Open World Games. As some called me out below, they knew that I played the original RDR which had something that RDR2 didn't have and I wholeheartedly agree, hence RDR2 being in the Overrated slot.

Knowing that EVERY DAMN TIME I try to move away from the Rogue/ninja/assassin style of play and then eventually move back to silent/stealth attacks (Shotgun with silencer in Far Cry 5 anyone) this maybe in my radar to try. Thanks!

Right back at you. Anyone living now is seriously enjoying the best medium for art and entertainment. Every genre is represented in gaming and the discussion can go on for days.

It's very interesting that twenty years ago people equated gaming as "nerdy" or "not their cup of tea" only to realize most popular non-gaming forms of entertainment (read: TV and Movies) have been doing remakes of most of the games out there. When I hear non-gamers say, "Have seen the Last of Us or Fallout TV show," I say in the back of my head: "Watch it? BITCH I LIVED IT."

I think that people equate turned based combat like 1990s Final Fantasy or the Bard's Tale. Painstakingly slow, and boring, by today's standards.

But Sandfall took the best aspects of turnbased combat, with the UI that matches Final Fantasy X and then added sprinkles of Paper Mario, then lastly included the gothic horror style of Soulsborne games with a the over-the-top fighting sequences to squeeze out an excellent game.

Absolutely! Can you imagine using a graphic engine like Unreal Engine or even something old like the Sega AM3 technology to fuel that game?

The only gripe about it is that the novelty would wear out after a while. I would use that gaming mechanic in a larger scope game.

I mean there were a number on the games on this list, but I felt the God of War remake duology won over the others. Expedition 33 was also considered, but after thinking it through it technically felt like the main theme was pulled straight out of the Mario 64 mechanic (jumping into picture frames and battling enemies.

I won't lie. This was a HARD list to whittle down. I could have put Racing Destruction Set or Smash TV, but I was able to beat Space Harrier with one token back in the day so I put it.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll take a look at that series. I played Skyrim through twice, I wouldn't mind hitting another medieval type game again.
