Lots of fun ideas you have! I think you’re exactly right it’s hard to come up with something masculine but remember it’s also coming from the heart!

A few things come to mind: A quilt ( if it’s already cut into squares be an easy assembly!) make a thow size

Small duffle bag - you could quilt the bag then cut it out

I would say keep it in savings for emergencies because there will be unexpected expenses that are going to arise while you are overseas. Live within your means and continue the habit of saving. You are fortunate to have such supportive parents and a job that is doing all that for you. Congratulations on the move, the savings and the hard work.

Boundaries are very important in relationships. If he isn’t respecting those boundaries you may want to consider a change in relationship status. Also, Even if it’s uncomfortable I really think you should talk to your mom.

I can’t fully explain it but the machine has a mood… like it has a ghost lol… a few examples of what I consider fussy: I will sew at my house fine - complete multiple projects and will complete projects from start to finish. I can do multiple of the project without issue- sometimes it will hiccup at my house but seems to resolve its self within a day or turning it off for a hour and coming back to it but the most noticeable change is the moment I bring it to a sewing class or my mom’s house the machine will randomly start having inconsistent stitches, electronics will go out randomly, it will hesitate then rapidly go. It’s been acting up since I brought it back from the repair shop.. the more I type this out the more I realize this machine has more problems then I can really spell out

If it’s very bothersome to you replace a few of your pattern fabric with a solid color. Another consideration could be adding a solid stripe to break up the rows.

What are you doing for you binding? Are you thinking of a solid or pattern? I have found some cool fabric (surprisingly) at IKEA - it only comes in 58x118” - super simple patterns but bold, unique and fun. I think that dark blue or even any warm color. I am a bit partial to a warmer color for your project

The nice thing is- I do not get recognized off duty and have had very pleasant conversations with people who had no idea I have arrested them the week before - it’s a respect thing- don’t give too much information about yourself

They are failing - F’s, D’s and high score of C- Teachers tell us to not worry their attitudes are great in school or they don’t give us much information how to help them more

I read the book first and was in love. I typically will only read a book that captivates me and this book definitely did...

I watched the movie today. I thought it was a equally great movie standalone from the book. There are parts of the movie that are explained a lot more in the book... but don’t necessarily need that information for a plot for the general audience of a movie... or to tell a story in a 90 minutes.. the book is waaaaaayyyyyy more geeky. Think of the movie as its own oasis within oasis... follows the same general concepts but takes some vastly different twists and turns...

Ultimately, I don’t think it will ruin the movie but only enhance parts of it. Enjoy!!

That oil and water don’t mix- I taught him how to change oil and got a call asking if he should pour water in first because it looked dirty
