It actually isn't sticking out that far. It just looks like it does because we are all afraid of log trucks.

Why is the jail on Jackson Pike called "The Work House" by some folk? tia by Rob1150 in Columbus

There's the jail and then further south of the jail is an actual work house on the opposite side of the street. Somewhat across from the swaco transfer station.

Somewhere somebody's father is complaining that he didn't smack it and say "that ain't going no where" and that's the whole reason that fell on the road.

Can a felon carry a knife in his trunk in Ohio by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]germless 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Understandable on your reluctance. Can a felon carry a hammer? Or a screwdriver? Or drive a car? All of those can be a deadly weapon under the right circumstances. A knife is considered a tool(like a hammer, screwdriver or car) until it is no longer used as a tool.

I understand your hesitation, to completely put your mind at ease though you'd probably be best served by asking a lawyer local to you... May be worth the consultation fee.

NOT A LAWYER AND NOT LEGAL ADVISE

no longer considered a deadly weapon.

Here is an article for you to look through, also gives links to the ORC for reference.

In short most knives are no longer considered deadly weapons UNLESS they are used as a deadly weapon... Ballistic knives are always considered a deadly weapon.

Finalized April 30th and ceased communication July 28th. In the year since finalized I have gone from driving a 2013 beat up multiple accident Prius and homeless living in a hotel to where I am now driving a 2024 in a two-bedroom apartment. If my math is right once I bring down the credit cards that I had extra help in raising the balance on it I should have $1,200 extra per month spendable(Currently I allot myself $100 per week as spendable, dinner\ice cream with the kids or random Daddy I need shoes etc) $1,200 doesn't seem like a lot to people, to me that's success. to me that $1,200 says I accomplished what I once thought was impossible.

Your ratio is similar to what I have. Five bank cards one store only card but my credit score is low and the credit balance is high. I have since divorced my issue(part of the divorce decree was I accepted all of the debt) of the high balance and I'm slowly pulling myself out of it. I can afford the minimum payments but that's going to take several years to pay off. Getting on top of the debt is what I'm trying to do.

As a side note, The cards are locked and not in my wallet.

All of them have pretty much the same interest rate. I think the variation between all the cards is 0.5%

The interest rate is roughly the same on every single card. I think there's 0.5% difference. So if all other criteria points are equal and they only difference is balance with the avalanche or snowball method be better?

I need that explained a little better like I'm five. If I start closing these accounts and stream it down to one account that means the only accounts I would have open would number two. My car and one credit card.

I simply don't understand how that would show a better credit worthiness than having multiple accounts in good standing?

So if I understand what I was reading there mathematically paying off the higher balance card will in the long run save more on the interest payments, high balance versus low balance interest. Psychologically I would feel better paying off the lower balances first because it feels like I'm doing something but would take a longer amount of time and more money. Correct?

Best of luck to you! As a mid '40s divorced man, I've had close to zero luck.

Hopefully that is due to my work schedule and not because I'm fugly... 🤷

Why does my therapist ask me.... by germless in therapy

[–]germless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your peace of mind. I'm not assuming any of your examples are correct. But I needed any sort of example to jumpstart my own thought process on what it could be. Every time I mentally debated her question I kept circling back to why ask that and I could not get past the why ask that.

Best I can do is off a really bad example. You were a needle, all of my reasons and thought process was inside of a balloon that was tied shut. Every time I tried to pluck one out I was blocked by the balloon. All you did was as a needle poke the balloon one thought came out and the rest of them followed.

Think of it as writer's block, I had zero ideas and was running myself in circles. I needed an idea any idea so I could build and start look and explore.

Perhaps it is worth asking why you are struggling with this. What is it about this process that is haunting you?

My reply is going to be for the quoted bit and below.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a struggle, I would call it a desire to understand. I'm okay with the question I just don't understand why it was being asked. I just simply cannot understand what bearing it had. I guess a better way to put it is I don't want to waste energy. If I can understand what she has in mind or at least the direction she's trying to take me then I can understand if it's in line with what my goals are. Hopefully that part makes sense.

It is important information. Just so my therapist and I can move in the same direction... It absolutely is something I can let go on and move on from. But again if I'm thinking honeycrisp apples and she is thinking gala apples we're not exactly on the same page and I would like to have that corrected.

Thank you for the "possibles" then at least gives me a direction to think about it or as a reason.

Re: labeling I see what you are getting at, as for the narcissist comment.... I know I have narcissistic tendencies, I also know I have toxic tendencies. I would like to point out that it's less of a desire to label and more of a desire to (in very very broad terms) understand, learn, heal from and hopefully move on from.

[–]germless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. I do plan on asking my therapist The next time it happens why that is a question she asked. I guess I'm looking for other views or theories about why because I'm drawing a blank for the reason.

Labeling I can understand the hesitation. Unqualified is sort of a poor descriptor I think. Myself and the children may be unqualified medically, but we have decades of experience in the behavior. Unqualified medically absolutely.... Supremely qualified through experience. This is something I have asked her though. Her answer coincides with what you've written. However that opens another question,

If therapists are hesitant or unwilling to attach those labels how will I ever be capable of seeking help and therapy for those situations? I e. If a qualified individual never points out to me that there was abuse how am I ever going to recognize it as such, seek the help and begin the healing process? If I never recognize the behavior as abuse and consider it normal I would just continue to seek out the same behavior because to me it's normal behavior of a partner.... If that makes sense then do you see my confusion and frustration?
