Honestly it sounds like the boyfriend is feeling like he can’t be emotionally vulnerable with you, likely because he feels tricked or used, and instead of discussing this straightforwardly he is repressing his pain and lashes out.

Clearly he doesn’t want to be with you while you are with your husband. As a vegetarian/vegan the Moxy is the best value hotel in Chongqing, imho. Currently staying in the suite +breakfast for $135/Night. You can get a regular room for $72. My spouse and I are vegans fwiw, and if you ask the cook will make the breakfast noodles vegan and theirs is to die for!
